Completely clearing my frame of Heli tape and stickers/decals/vinyls, then re-applying.

I know a hairdryer is the usual recommended tool, but will a heat gun, from a further distance obviously do the trick?

How easy can I damage my frame/paintwork? :)

Bike is from Orange if it makes a difference.

    Thanks

is it adjustable? if so turn it down.

if not keep it moving quickly don’t concentrate the heat too much.

A heat gun is good for removing vinyls, especially if you have a nozzle attachment to focus the hot air. Obviously don’t go overboard with the heat, but the paintwork should be OK. If Orange are painting them properly the frames will be baked after painting anyway which will be a lot hotter than you can get with a heat gun!
Actually I’ve found the best tool for removing vinyl (from a flat surface) is a wallpaper stripper – the hot moist air seems to really loosen the adhesive up. Obviously not recommended for your bike but as an alternative, take it down the local gym/spa and stick it in the steam room. :D
