MaxiPooch has occasional fits where he looses bladder control. Vet is aware of his condition, as are the carpets. So, can anyone suggest a small area carpet vac to deal with stinky dog pee?

    TIA

I won’t comment on best Vac, that would be a never ending debate…but I would reccomend an enzyme based cleaner for ‘spot cleaning’.

I’ve had good results with this stuff:

    https://simplesolution.com/dog-odor-and-stain-remover/tough-odors/extreme-pet-stain-odor-remover-32oz

Let it soak in, leave for a bit, and then sponge/paper towel to dry it out.. then just hoover as usual.

They were better between their second and fourth albums but some of the later stuff is decent enough.

They used to be called ‘Dog p155 carpet hoover’, but they had to change the name for copyright reasons.

If you were a true fan you should already know this.

Bissel SpotClean with the enzyme treatment suggested above work well together. Enzyme to neutralise it, then clean up after.

We’ve got one of those spot cleaners, it’s very good. The grey sludge is picks up is awesomly gross. Not as powerful as a full size carpet cleaner, but that’s not the point of it.

Soak it in your own piss. The dog will then realize it’s someone else’s territory and take his business somewhere safer.

An enzyme cleaner definitely as the first port of call and then after a two year long dog vomit stain I can 1000000% recommend this https://sharkclean.co.uk/product/shark-stainstriker-pet-stain-spot-cleaner-px200ukt-zidPX200UKT as the one thing every dog owner should have. You strip it down in a matter of seconds to clean it out after each use and it actually works. Also shark themselves are worth owning, my upright vacuum motor just undid a bolt in itself after 5 years 8 months of ownership and they sent me out a new motor free of charge and gave me a 30% off voucher.

Tools’ solution is ace. The dog odour eliminator is heavily reduced on Amazon scum today.

literally just bought the top pet spec vax last week, 120? quid off plus a steam cleaner..from their web site

has a spot cleaning attachment etc…

possibly over kill. but super pleased at how much my carpets came up, and all the cat hair etc that was pulled up

    Mucky lab owner here.

I bought the Vax spot washer for the stair carpet and it’s great. I then bought one of the big Vax washers which also has a spot washing attachment and it’s even better. The brown water as mentioned above, is a disgustingly satisfying sign of how good they are at cleaning

Big one for the same price and does so much more

    This is the Ventrexian way.

An enzyme cleaner definitely as the first port of call

    Came here to say this.

One of our cats has ‘issues.’  I bought a Vax which lasted just over a year of very occasional use before starting to trip out the house electrics.  Vax weren’t interested because I’d neglected to fill out the free extended warranty details on their website when I bought it.  They offered me an unspecified discount on a new machine but I was similarly disinterested.

Anyway.  As a carpet cleaner it (ho ho!) sucked.  The best results I had for neutralising the stench of stale cat pish was soaking an old tea towel in a strong solution of Vanish and lying it over the affected area.  The oxygen/enzyme-based cleaner kills whatever it is that causes the smell, and the towel leeches out the urine.  Rinse and repeat for a few days.

We have a shark upright carpet cleaner.

Seems to do the trick with various creature fluids.

Got it in one of the amazon sales for not much and it has paid for itself a number of times over.

As mentioned above the colour of the water afterwards is worrying

As luck would have it there’s a suitable Shark on sale, with pet attachments and enzyme cleaner too. Button pressed, thanks folks.

Cougar, I purchased from Amazon but it is not there anymore. Maybe I got the last one?
