We went for our first ashridge ride of the year today to find that brownlows cafe at ashridge has closed. The national trust have replaced the massively popular perveyors of the finest breakfasts and cakes for 20 miles with a cafe of the same standard as that at Newark bus station in the 70s. One presumes this is down to NT’s desire to take the whole of a substantially smaller revenue stream for themselves.
