I have an 853 Genesis altitude frame in need of some TLC and Bob Jackson is close to me. Needs a dent filling, the gear hanger re-aligning and a respray which they can do, but it’s not exactly cheap, so just wondered if anyone had good/bad things to say about them?

    Ta! 🙂

I let them loose on my very precious early 90s lugged Condor custom steel frame (built by Dave Yates).
They did some minor repairs well and a nice clean 2-colour spray job with inlayed graphics.

    Good quality, good service.

Took 7 weeks for turnanround, and I think they used cream cheese…

    I woudn’t go back.

    Cheers Tony

Sounds like a might be looking elsewhere then. Any recommendations in Bradford/Leeds area? Need to be able to do the repairs, so probably not just a powder coater really. Ellis Briggs?

Or do I use it as an excuse for a new frame! 🙂

Slight thread hijack. Can you get hold of Genesis graphics?? As I am going to be getting my io powder coated.

For yorkshire based powder coating, I would use Triple S in Bingley every time.

2007 was the last time I had a frame done there , but it was one of my mates who was working there that did it so it was an extra special job.

last pics I took in late 2010–>

Don’t tend to take lots of pics of my bikes ,I always forget when I’m out riding (too busy having fun)

I’m pretty happy with how the finish on mine has lasted.

+1 though for Chris Marshall , a very down to earth bloke who turns out some VERY special paint jobs.

Triple S a no go as they can’t fill the dent sadly (no good under powder coat apprently).

Looks good carlos, might have to “risk” jacksons I think. Now, what colour….

It’s gone to Jacksons. My guess is it will look a lot better when it comes back than it does now!

The mallet is for knocking the headset cups out as I didn’t have time to do it before I left for work!

The question is more “how badly do you ride”! 🙂

It’s been (is!) well loved, it deserves the TLC. Paint was a bit crap from the factory I guess too.
