The plane I want is the one there are no pictures of. 😆
F4 Phantom for me.
I'd have the bottom one, higher resale value.
Top one is in service and doing good stuff. Bottom one is still ironing our the wrinkles. I also designed one of the bits in the top one.
Now - Typhoon.
5 years time - probably F35 but it would cause me great mental anguish.
YF-23 Black Widow(if it wasn't a gate guardian). Supposedly faster and stealthier than the Raptor but lost out due to some clever marketing and politics by the F-22 manufacturer.
Su-35 for me.
Not enough love for the F-4 Phantom.....or indeed the Lockheed Starfighter. Looked fantastic to my young man eyes.
I've actually owned 2 jets, this F3 Tornado which I kept at RAF Leeming...
I used to let mates have a mooch.
& this old F4G that I had down at Alconbury...
(I accidently tore the photo up cos it was amongst some others I was chucking out. Till I realised)
Not enough love for the F-4 Phantom.
The F4 is probably my fave, meanest, nastiest looking jet ever!
In order of planes mentioned in this thread -
SR71 - fastest is fastest
Harrier - VTOL FTW
'Phoon - spangly modern G-mentalist
The F35 makes the typhoon look old, design wise. Such is the nature of fighter aircraft life cycles.
F35, because we make them (well electronics for them anyway)
No your all wrong

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm hot russian ladies.
id take the one that has done the most missions with the highest kill count. people talking about looks!! if some anti aircraft gun was shooting at you why would you care what the thing looked like. you'd be looking the one that can get your ass outta there the fastest and evasive.
Spitfire it is, then. 🙂
Spitfire it is, then.
Yeah, they’re ok, fun to fly 8)

How do you define successful?
Vongassit: don't be a flanker....
The F35 is awesome...when it works.
I'll take a Typhoon please!
One of these. But only because there are bits of one to be found in a bog not far from here. Rumour has it there may even be some unaccounted for depleted uranium shells up there too. Not fast, not pretty, but decidedly efficient in what it was designed to do.[img]

Sukhoi

Maybe not so much on point a either 😉
Point taken! I was thinking of the markings, though... 🙂
Oh, and midlifecrashes, good call on the Arrow. Fantastic plane!

Ah Miss Monique.
[s]Spitfire[/s] Hurricane it is, then.
The Spitfire might have been sexier, but it didn't have the most kills.
Battle of Britain I think you're right aracer, overall WW2, I'd not be so sure
