I'm confused now, I thought Andy's whereabout was hidden so the authorities didn't know where he was. All along it was to torment Red, damn that evil white Christian bastard Andy.

my wife made me watch Emma at the weekend.

Wow, an entire film where nothing happens, absolutely nothing. No laughs, no tension, no drama, no naked ladies. Literally nothing happened. It was time I will never get back.

That's simply untrue. There's a bit where Emma says something hurtful to a lady at a picnic, it's the pivotal moment of the whole film.

Also, Tenet notwithstanding, I've some bad news for you about time in general...

Andy didn't take Red with him as he was worried about being branded a white saviour.

Special festive mention for "Love Actually"

It gets trotted out as a Christmas classic but its a lot of luvvie nonsense and half the characters are detestable shits.

It also spawned a Tory advert so it can get in the sea.

Full English Breakfast

Poor acting
Poor editing
Poor story
Poor continuity
Poor, well poor everything really.
But it's like a car crash. You can't stop watching it.

Andy Dufresne was as guilty as hell.

We only have his word that he didn't murder his wife. 🙂

Looking for something to watch last night with my wife and ended up with Lost in Translation which neither of us had seen....

What a pile of cack. Alternates between dull and creepy with some xenophobia thrown in. Mainly just mind numbingly banal though. The reviewers must have been on drugs or just so far up the film industries arse they couldn't see daylight.

Switched off two thirds in which is unusual for us.

Absolutely rubbish but 1 star for some great cinematography which was wasted on such a useless script.

Might have already been said, but avoid “ A Good Day to Die Hard” at all possible costs. Dreadful plot (in fact scratch that, no plot I could identify), terrible acting, Bruce Willis only there because of the pay cheque and a thinly veiled attempt to cover all of the above with excessive car chases and explosions.

Genuinely the worst film I have ever seen.

Loved Lost In Translation. 🙂 Was reading about it recently, Sophia Coppola managed to meet Bill Murray and agreed to do it but wouldn't sign a contract - she was sweating over him turning up as she'd have to spend a quarter of the film's budget before he was needed on set, but he was there exactly when he said he'd be.

He seems to sometimes be difficult to work with, but Murray sounds pleasingly eccentric. 🙂

It does sound pretty bad. I can’t find anyway to legally watch it and can’t be arsed to torrent it.
I wish I had torrented Tenet. I got the DVD for myself and it is as pretty as Interstellar but just as rubbish. High end speculative SF my bottom! Pretty average concept in SF with flashy cinematography.

We have a new contender.
Last night I watched Cosmic Sin. Be warned this contains spoilers warnings.

Cosmic Sin with Bruce Willis and Frank Grillo.
Seven rogue soldiers launch a preemptive strike against a newly discovered alien civilization in the hopes of ending an interstellar war before it starts.

The worst film I have ever seen. IMDB gives it 2.5/10. Even the abysmal Breach - also SciFi starring Bruce- managed a trashy 3.8/10
2 comments from their user reviews section:

Bruce Willis stopped telegraphing his acting for this film. He just didn't act at all. I mean, it looked like he was between high and mentally disabled. I worry about the dude.
But what makes this film shine like a black hole is the story. It felt more than devoid of passion, like a spreadsheet that sucks one's soul away in the accounting department on a hot day after the air conditioning died.

First,I adore sci-fi. And am willing to overlook A LOT. But this piece of.... What the heck where they thinking. The writing and scenes/environment are so sooo bad its just too distracting. I still (skipped after a point) to the end but this is one of the worst sci-fi movies I have EVER seen. This is supposed to be happening in 2500s . And sci-fi is usually written by guys/gals who like the genre right? So you'd assume they're not dumb, this is genre for tech/gadget/future visions loving people/thinkers. First of all, its all happening in a city like today. Petrol cars, grunge plaid shirts wearing, beer drinking dudes everywhere and every single piece of the environment they are in is from like 2005. NOTHING is advanced anywhere except a CGI spaceship here and there. Everyone still uses regular guns with bullets propelled by gun powder and use petrol. They still use incandecent lightbulbs. Even we in Europe dont use them anymore, they dont even sell them anymore by law. TODAY.
Or landing with a spaceship on a foreign planet and then they pitch up A TENT. A TENT!!! In 2500s and not a fancy,sci-fi redesigned/decorated for the movie to look special, hi-tech tent. Nah-ha. An obviously locally bought, regular, simple tent with old regular folding chairs and tables. They didnt even try to make anything look advanced.
Also everything from clothing, storage boxes, various military tools, every piece of housing is from 2000s. You might think (for a milisecond), how about Firefly, combo of Wild West and space. Not even close, that beautiful show was an intelligent combination, smartly done, with foundations explaining everything. Insulting to even be considered in regards to this disaster.
The story. Lets not even get there. The (IMO) very interesting plot summary that draws your interest to watch it is 100% misleading. Its so boring and slow it stops drawing your interest after 15 minutes. In then end its just confusing and silly. Never mind again, that so so many things just dont make sense or are ignored. I do not know how such a thing can get approved. It is so bad. And Bruce. What the heck. De Niro at least sold his soul for comedies that work in 50%. But Bruce lately... this movie isnt worth the few cents of material that the medium it is recorded on. Dont watch.

Need a best film ever thread (that you can think of at the moment). Then the shaming and ridicule can really start.

Obviously the best film ever is Top Hat with Fred and Ginger. There is no need for such a thread. Fact.

the new wonder woman, dear god it’s shit.

The first one was shit too, so this is unsurprising. DC really don't know how to make it work. I take from the title that the second one is really just a straight rip of Captain Marvel's (probably the weakest film in the MCU) 80s nostalgia?

There is no need for such a thread. Fact.

The Cheek (to Cheek) of it!

Cosmic Sin with Bruce Willis

That says enough for me. Why the **** do people pay to watch Bruce Willis?

Why the **** do people pay to watch Bruce Willis? Nick Cage/Robert De Niro/Liam Neeson etc etc

Past glories remain a big draw, especially for the occasional cinema goer who has managed to avoid anything past Die Hard With a Vengeance.

The Cheek (to Cheek) of it!

Well Flying Down To Rio tries hard but the Hat edges it into second despite Rio having Fred Astaire in Harvey Weinstein sexual nuisance mode.

Adam Sandlers 'Hubie Halloween' is the worst movie I think I have seen recently . Just watched coming to America 2 and was actually pleasantly surprised despite the reviews. Getting back to Sandler how can he be in Uncut Gems which was amazing then Hubie Halloween.
I spose its like George Best having played for Man U then Hibs.

You need to have the remote taken from you if you're using it to switch off Lost in Translation. Lovely film.

Coming to America is one of them all time classics in our house, must have watched it 100 times.

was obviously very apprehensive about C2A but we enjoyed it. its no masterpiece of course, but its not offensively bad. loads of fun references to the original and nice to see some old faces. few laughs too. will watch it again.

Adam Sandlers ‘Hubie Halloween’ is the worst movie I think I have seen recently

At some point Adam Sandler decided that men with speech impediments and serious social and learning difficulties was the height of comedy. He’s never looked back

Currently watching "Kidnapped" with Halle Berry. Most frustrating film ever. Why she didn't kill the two kidnappers when she had the chance is beyond me.

Isn't that the basic premise of Guardians of the Galaxy?

Lucy....that crap with Scarlett Johansen from a few years back. What total, utter shit that film is. No storyline whatsoever. I could generally happily look at Scarlett for hours without complaint, but Jesus wept that film is so bad even I couldn't bare it.

I decided to watch star wars episodes I - III whilst doing some TrainerRoad workouts the past few weeks. It made the 90min VO2 max ones seem pleasant.

Oh...my.....God.
Have just watched ‘Beneath’ on Netflix.
I can’t even convey in words how bad it was. Number seven most watched thing on Netflix today apparently. The best actor in it was the big plastic fish. Truly terrible.

The most recent Halloween reboot with Jamie Lee Curtis . That scene where Michael Myers is standing in the exercise yard and the dogs start acting up. I burst out laughing at how ridiculous and daft it seemed.
Also rubbish, I thought, was Sweeney Todd with Johnny Depp, and the VVitch film. Both masssive disappointments,I was bored stupid with both of them.

The 1995 animated one is very good. Can't speak for the 2017 film of the same name.

Milla Jovovich Monster Hunter, what utter shite. Near indestructible monsters that you can't kill with modern weapons but you can with swords and bows and arrows.
