I really don't get the attitude that so many people on here 'hate' Oasis or any other band, and feel the need to come out and slag them off. I happen to really like Oasis and their music, I really enjoy seeing them live, and think the music is great. So what if the music is 'simple'? If it sounds good and people relate to it and take enjoyment out of it, why can't people let be and just get on with their own lives, instead of berating others?
Anybody who summarise Oasis or any other band for that matter as "Music made by idiots for idiots" is probably saying more about themselves than anything else!
Of course, if it was in the news that a cool STW 'favourite' band had split up such as Dead Chest Of Rabbits, or Symposium Architect, then there would be nobody here berating the band in question or calling their fans idiots.
Live and let live...

From BBC News:
The guitarist said: "I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable.
He's yer brother. Give him a slap.
All the abuse on here is so predictable. There's no denying they went off the boil for a few years after What's The Story but there are few bands that can (could) still pull in the hundreds of thousands they have recently. Arena and stadia tours of past twelve months were awesome.
Out of interest what gigs do the above posters think I should have been spending my time/money recently if it's not Oasis?

Oasis were excellent and saw me through my teenage years with good tunes in the sunny summer days, crackling over the wireless, slightly odd lyrics (not that lyrics ever mattered in a song it seems) and a distinct northern style which was nice (coming from not far away). But I quite liked Blur and a few others at the same time - I never get the whole hating of bands thing - so they're not your taste, listen to something else. It's definitely cool to hate oasis, it seems. I cant remember anyone remotely close in success and or appeal since then. I think many of STW would like us all to listen to niche bands while drinking appletinis and discussing the fine arts.
