The Optimo 4s has 2 sets of wear bars. I'm not sure but I'd guess than when you reach the first one you'll have lost the sipes and most of the M&S performance edge over summer tyres.

Got the tyres in the shed ready and wondering if it'll be cheaper to buy steelies to save the april and next winter swap costs.....is it just a case of getting the right rim size and width (from the tyre wall?) or do the bolt arrangement measurements have to be specified??
------------------------------------------------------------------Everything needs to be compatible- same or very similiar. Offset, bolt number and spacing etc. It can be a bit bewildering tbh, easiest way if you don't want to get too into it is to basically order the wheels for your car. But obviously that narrows choice.
Try a scrapyard. I got 4 full size 'spare' steel wheels for my Focus for £60. Brand new bolts were another £15 or so from Germany.
Have Good Year Vector 4Seasons, so far so good.
If I had the storage, would probably be looking at the winter/summer swap.
We currently live in a flat though so nowhere to store anything.

I've just fitted a pair of Avon 'Ice Touring' to my missus' car so that should guarantee warm, balmy conditions for us all for the next six months 😕

Just fitted the wheels and been and sorted the air pressures. Feel alright on the wet greasy roads at the moment. Going downa size and non run flats makes the ride feel a bit better too. Can't wait for some snow now!
