I am starting to think it's pointless watching the GP as the results never seem to stand anymore! Too many damn rules spoiling the sport! Football has the results made on the pitch and works. I know it can be annoying at times, but it does add to the drama. If FIA were running the world cup qualifiers they would have made england lose the game and not allowed to play in the next for a possible offside.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I might just watch the beginning of the next gp to get the results from the last then get the old scalectrix out.

Am I alone on this?

McLaren cheated, they got punished. Simple and just.

Fine, but give them an hour or something after the race. Not nearly a week later. What's the point watching it as the places never seem to stand any more!

Would you take the same approach for drug cheats? If they're not caught an hour after the event the classification stands?

F1 and motor-racing in general has always been like this, last weekends affairs are nothing new.

They didn't cheat. There was miscommunication between team and driver and stewards, and the stewards claim they were mislead and predictably punished McLaren. If it had been Ferrari, on the other hand...

CZ, nah you are wrong. Hamilton was interviewed as saying he didn't let/was not told to let trulli past, but the recordings from radio show he was, both he and the team denied letting him past. Not that it was wrong to let him past, as they didn't have the clarification they wanted from race control. But they later used that to their advantage claiming they had not let him past, ie trulli had overtaken for which he received a ban.

They tried to cheat, got caught, paid the price.

But you are right, if it had been Ferrari...

my point is that this is getting out of hand. It is spoiling the racing as I am sure all this stuff used to go on without big brothers intervention.

The point is they want people to watch to see the sponsors to make the dosh. If people just get sick of the results constantly being changed they might start to switch off.

I'm not saying cheating is fine, but they pick up on every tiny point and spoiling it imo.

Also, I heard Eddie Jordan saying it did seem he was been targeted as the issue was put to bed on Tuesday, then the stewards dug up more stuff on Thursday. If it's done its done. Shall we dig up the whole F1 past and demote past champions cos of slight rule bending or whatever?

I remember a certain footballer that used his hand! He was cheating and got away with it. All adds to the drama imo, just don't keep moving the results around its getting stupid.
