As above, looking for a job and in the run up to Christmas vacancies disappear. Why is this? It's not like they'd be interviewing before the new year anyway...
Not sure they do. My area (engineering) still has new jobs being advertised.
When I was recruiting, we'd pretty much always put things on hold from the beginning of Dec until early Jan
For no other reason than we didn't want to bother over Christmas
Lots of students returning home and picking up the seasonal work? Full times not advertised as they can be filled temporerily with seasonal staff.
Can sometimes be down to new budgets being submitted/signed off. Same can happen around the end of March beginning of April.
To make sure Recruiters are poor for Xmas 🙁
Actually HR are too busy in December, they have an Xmas do to organise

In Scotland there will 4 public holidays over christmas/new year - nearly 20% of a month. And maybe another couple of days when they could not manage to get in to work. Why pay someone not to work if you can wait till after new year?
