I'm very patriotic, it just has nothing to do with football. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think we need a list.

We're blaming
1. Thatcha
2. Thatchers Cide
3. Vlad the impaler
4. Nelson Mandella

I'm going to add James Corden, Patrick Stwewart and the Chuckle Brothers to the list.

Any more?

You have a team at the tournament, presumably you'd like them to do well, why not show your support?

it would make no difference to me if everyone forgot how to play football tomorrow. I'm just not interested in who wins stuff.

English people are not unpatriotic, we just don't generally feel the need to shout about it all the time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well sfb's to blame for everything so essentially a moot point.

I also blame God (in whichever flavour you choose) since everything is his will.

Patriotism is good, and the English should be proud of their country and flag.

There's a fine line between success and failure.
It's called Hadrians Wall

It was built to keep the barbarians out. What puzzles most Scots is why the barbarians were so obliging as to build it ๐Ÿ™‚

I'd like to say something about this, but I've been told to "give it a rest"... ๐Ÿ˜†

your Prime Minister wants to hang an England flag outside No 10 for the duration of the world cup and he's getting slated for it.

Probably in case it 'upsets' someone who's not English, & I don't mean Scottish/Welsh/Irish/American/Canadian/any European....ahh you know what I mean, I just daren't say it in case it sounds racist.

This was actually a serious question - You have a team at the tournament, presumably you'd like them to do well

No, not really.

p.s. why should I be patriotic? I didn't get to choose which country I was born in.

why not show your support?

I am.

But I don't expect every other English-born person to - they have a choice.

And not every Scotch would support Scotland if they were in the tournament.

Maybe the people living in England at the time the Romans arrived would differ from your opinion ๐Ÿ™‚

yep, I think they would. Anyway the romans had already battered the bollocks out of the scots at the battle of mons grappus. Latest thinking is they built the wall to grow vines up.

Ahh, see well what he was trying to say was that the English built the wall and were the barbarians. But the Romans (Probably aided by the British of the time, granted) built it, didn't they?

And since then the Anglo Saxons, Danish and Normans have colonised England. So it ain't diddly sqaut to do with us, chap! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well, you can hardly blame it on the good times or moonlight can you?

From a distance, could a duck-billed platypus look like a duck? Or will it always look more like what would be produced if a duck had drunk two too many B52s in a Yates and woken up naked next to a rabbit and a beaver?

I like footie but only at Football League club level.

International football is about as interesting as a rained-off cricket match. IMHO of course

It's like the difference between a stoat and a weasel:

A stoat is weaselly identifiable, but a weasel is stoatally different......

Hope this helps.
