...does it make money ?

Is it owned by a big company or a fat little man eating pies ?

Do the mods get paid ? Or is it done out of love ?

What's singletrack main purpose ??? Apart from the forum !

Just wondering that's all !

Depends who you ask eg Jambalaya would say it's all run by a left wing anti-Semitic collective whereas JohnyHive would say The Luminati...

Not in this country, in the UK it makes a loss for tax reasons

Is it owned by a big company or a fat little man eating pies ?

More of a mafia really

Do the mods get paid ? Or is it done out of love ?

Not as such but they benefit from the use of a company Audi/T5 and the hot tub

What's singletrack main purpose ??? Apart from the forum !

I can't tell you that

Web or print?
They have to buy their money....the printer is rubbish at £5 notes.
No.A tall bloke and a shorter bloke (I think).....I suspect both are partial to a pasty.
In haribo.Out of duty and superior smugness.
Lowering productivity of mid level IT workers.
'Bout covers it all (may be some factual inaccuracies)

Fred does.
The Mods aren't real they are just really advanced bots. They were real once, but they were assimilated by the the matrix.
The main purpose, making trails come to life since 2002. Also, to answer all of lifes main questions.
Don't ask too many questions, the last guy who did hasn't been seen since.

...does it make money ?

Staff wages get paid (I can only assume), beyond that I don't know.

Is it owned by a big company or a fat little man eating pies ?

Far as I'm aware it's an independent run by a small 'family' of about a dozen staff. It's not owned by a big player like Future or anything.

Do the mods get paid ? Or is it done out of love ?

There are days when I'm not sure either of those apply. But no, we don't get paid other than an invite to the Christmas party. Oh, and we got a free t-shirt the other day, which was nice.

What's singletrack main purpose ??? Apart from the forum !

The magazine(s) I suppose.

Gofar enterprises is actually a Panamanian nominee account. The STW image rights are owned by a Luxembourg registered SPV (itself owned by the Panamanian Co.), and leased back to a Jersey trust that is the main shareholder in STW publishing ltd, at remarkably the same cost as the operating profit of the uk ltd co. Thus minimising tax liability in the UK. The beneficial owner of the Panamanian shell Co is a closely guarded secret but widely believed to be the Scott Trust.

Pretty much 50/50 between two individuals.

Does it make any money? Extrapolating the creditor and retained profit numbers i'd guess revenue of c.£1.8m and a loss of £50k

Are you for real @footflaps, thats just ridiculous. The Forum has little to do with the people who run the excellent magazine and thank God for that! The regular political thread posters here are pretty unrepresentative of the country as a whole as we see in their reaction to government policy of both Labour, Calition and Tory governments.

If STW does not make money they would have known it instantly ...

STW has been here for more than 20 years and that track record speaks for itself and they are not running a charity shop you know.

Burnley-born Alker, publisher at Singletrack, said: “We grew steadily for the first decade but in the last two years we’ve had unprecedented growth. So much so, that I've just bought a ferrari, and because it was facing the wrong way I bought another one."

That's interesting, I had assumed the magazine would be all about roadbikes and left wing politics based on the nonsense on here. Maybe I will give it a go.
