If JeremyP is TJ's real name (have I got that right?) and it wasn't TJ who replied to your review (I believe the general consensus is, it wasn't him) , then he's the only one who should be pissed off.
The only real way for this to be settled is for you and the cafe owner to have a duel. Obviously each armed with bombers.

It's great advertising for the OP mind. If one was cynical(not the op) you might think it was done to bring attention to the business.
The other thing to ask is if a company gets shitty review (possibly with reason) can they cry to TripAdvisor and get it removed?
Yes....I had to go straight from page 1 to page 5 to understand why I was confused!

Who said MTBers were an easy going bunch with camaraderie abound? Certainly not much evidence in several of these threads.

I think it's quite (very) difficult to get reviews removed, but the business owner does have a way to reply to each review.

Not STW's best moment, I agree.
Strikes me that this kind of thread can only really work if entertainment value surpasses personal ego-tripping by a considerable margin. We need a core of proper righteous anger that just won't quit in the face of logic - ideally coming from two bruisers with no sense of perspective or self-awareness. Personally, some authentic hard-ass big-hitting circa a few years ago would have sweetened the reading experience.
This is basically 'big-hitter-lite'. 🙁
But more importantly: what tires for leaving fake reviews?
