Anything owned by the Dirty Digger
Tesco
Bovril - it's gross.

I boycotted the swimming pool at a campsite we stayed at this summer in France. They enforced the "Speedo rule".

Don't boycott much, but here's a few I feel strongly about:

Starbucks - as they don't support our armed forces
French goods - Due to the way they banned British beef / lamb for years
Dave Hinde - too many bad reports
MacDonalds - they represent obesity

Don't really understand why tesco and Asda feature so strongly and no mention of sainsburys. They're just as bad

Tesco have the highest market share of just under 30%, asda next with around 17%, so I presume that's why people say 'I hate tesco' above others. Pretty stupid really to just pick one supermarket as they all use the same practices - for pricing, planning, etc.

Would say Israel, but being a scientist, who also drives I would be wary of every motorcyclist for ever if I criticised them (they have nasty magnetic things that go bang if you upset them...apparently).
Tesco ARE the worst of the retailers, absolute bullies of the retail world, and deserve all they get.

Sony....will never buy any of their products ever again (ok maybe a ps4) .... proprietery locked in crap designed to be expensive and redundant before you can breath. At least Apple support for years.

Innocent - for selling out to McD's.
Sky - and I certainly wouldn't ride around in their bike kit.
Fat people - they are just lazy.

What about medicine? - It was and has to be tested on animals.

I think if you go far enough up the chain ALL Food unless you grew it yourself is controlled by someone out to make a profit. And even then you bought the seeds from agribusiness.

And your pension? Where do you think that gains it's interest? or not.

It's complicated but what alternative life can you provide for folk making cheap clothes? Could we Pay more at this end and hope education at the other end is included?

I wouldn't actually say I "boycott" anything, to be honest. I "avoid using" certain stores/brands, sure but "boycott"? Sounds a bit right on and trendy, left wing, middle class NIMBY/student to me.......
What would Cliff do?

If you make positive choices in favour people and organisations with sound(er) ethics then you won't need to boycott anything or anybody.

Tesco -- For crimes against your local small shop

Love it. You've clearly never been to our local small shops. Tesco moving to the area is the best thing to happen to us since the glaciers created some ace hills.

The Labour Party.
I know this won't win me many friends, but 100,000 dead Iraqis are reason enough, even before we get into their flirtation with Thatcherism and endless lies to the electorate.

I broadly agree but do you think the Tories would have done anything differently re Iraq? If anything they'd have been even more gung-ho.

McDonalds bikes in Edinburgh after they ripped off my son on his 5th birthday (that was 10 years ago).

Subaru after getting really bad customer service from their Falkirk showroom

Tesco Fuel after having engine problems due to contaminated fuel and they denied it was their issue - I havent used any supermarket fuels since then.

Talk Sport for employing Stan Collymore, Richard Keys and Andy Gray

Half hearted boycott of Murdock media empire which crumbles as soon as Heiniken cup starts each year.

Starbucks - as they don't support our armed forces

What does this mean why do we need a coffee house to support our armed forces?

Boycotts ? Prefer to think of it a informed purchasing. I have just dumped the mobile network 3 for not having a network - wont support sky because what they have done to sport and the culture around it. Others for obvious reasons already mentioned:- Coke, Mc D's, Tesco, RBS, Nestle, all bottled water and what was cadbury - now Kraft foods.

I think if a company has dubious ehtics and screws people over we should just not buy their stuff. Its th only way we can hurt them. Complaining never works!

This far and no mention of Halfords or Evans?

And Morrisons, or any other establishment that inflicts patronising Jeremy Kyle piped music on it's customers.

Not wishing to bring a political debate into this thread, but I'm a child of the 1980s, so not voting Tory absolutely goes without saying.

We've put up with below par politics in this country for far too long. A cleanup is long overdue.

nobody so far tho I do stay away from fast food chains as much as possible, for taste reasons as much as anything else.

I used to know a guy who boycotted our price records, it worked too 🙂

Edit Just realised whilst I don't actually "Boycott" anyone there's shedloads of companies I wouldn't go near due to (over)price*, taste and general shonkiness of their product/service, would be a long list.

*just been given an ipad so I guess my apple over priced tat boycott has been suspended.

Edit 2, just remembered....the trafford centre, have never been and am committed to never ever step foot inside, there you go a bona fide boycott.

Starbucks - as they don't support our armed forces

Eh? Is this an ironic Daily Mail-style joke or am I missing something here?

Which definition of 'support' are we using here?

Are starbucks not contributing to wages and supply lines/logistics? Or they not partaking in sufficient flag waving? #puts on fire retardant underpants and waits#

Don't really properly boycott anything, but I will never, ever buy or use anything from Lush due to their funding of hunt saboteurs.

That makes more sense. But even if it were true I wouldn't really think much less of Starbucks- Daily Mail 'our boys' stuff leaves me a bit cold.

Edit: Not that I'm a massive fan of Starbucks anyway!

I will never buy anything from lush because even walking past the shop makes me want to vomit. I don’t think I would actually be able to make it inside.

It's ridiculous.

"Give me free stuff because I chose to join the army"
"No"
"UNPATRIOT!"

Halifax building Society - for unthinking, uncaring customer service
Carphone Warehouse - scruffy shops, surly, ill-trained staff
Orange - aggressive in the face of complaints
Local Co-op food store - dirty, couldn't care less
Autotrader.co.uk - over-charges

Ah now i recall, us bumpkins don't get to visit them there big places very often, but i do remember smells, and i walked pst a place that was reeking of eye watering matter-- i think it was one of them Lush shops, so i will decline their products but may send the money direct to a hunt sab group instead.

Tapped and Packed on Tottenham Ct Rd. for the following reasons:
1) it looked like a nice place for a coffee and had a bicycle suspended above the door - so had visual promise and enticed me in.
2) the espresso came in a glass.
3) the espresso tasted absolutely vile - like they'd scraped some diesel gunk off the underside of a taxi and added piss to it.
4) the staff were the most vacant, arrogant, wannabe muppets ever.

Another good reason to boycott Starbucks. Apparently this poster was too reminiscent of the World Trade Centre 9/11 attacks. 😕

Never buy the sun.
My only real boycott.
I'll try to avoid other brands/corps along ethical lines but at times waver and consider them if needs must.
But if it was the only paper in the shop and I was getting on a 12 hour bus journey I still would boycott it.

Hunt sabs are nothing but class war terrorists with a chip on their shoulder.

Whereas many hunt supporters are IME (from living next door to where a hunt used to meet regularly) drunken, aggressive, arrogant, inconsiderate, littering arseholes.

Shouldn't really need to lobby Parliament, seeing as hunting with dogs is illegal (but the law is routinely flouted).

Then your experience of hunts is vastly different to mine.

I support everyone's right to protest against that with which they disagree, but I draw the line at groups using borderline terrorist tactics.

How many of you would commit direct violence against, say, Nestle, because you believed them to be engaged in illegal activities (even if you had no proof that this was so) - and not just employees but people who bought their products?
