As the title really, our baby girl is 3 months and had one round of injections about a month ago, she is due her next lot next week. Is it ok to take her swimming now or does she need to have the 3 month injections first or do you have to wait even longer???

Cheers
Steve

I think you've got to wait until they've had the full course. We waited until our lad had his second lot.

My understanding was that you just had to wait until the umbilical cord has healed... that's certainly the advice given here, but then I guess they have a vested interest.

FWIW, so do I, we're booked in here for a week of relaxing and baby swimming in November!

Cheers - and how cool it sounds - can't wait!

wait until after the second round and then start.

I recommend seeking out proper classes in a hydrotherapy pool if poss, where the water's really warm - at that age they do get cold very fast.

Taken all of mine at 3 months after the second round of injections.
Wouldn`t worry about taking them to proper lessons just yet, just take them and get them used to being in the water. It is better if your local pool is properly heated, though. Some public pools can be a bit cold.
Once they acclimatise they love it.
Take them every week and they love it.My oldest 2 could both swim unaided by the age of 3,and my 2 year old loves being in the pool.

mini-aracer #2 was in the pool when we went on holiday at the end of June. Was <2 months old then. Certainly what I've seen suggests there isn't any real danger before the jabs, as they things they're most at risk from are airborne anyway <shrugs>

After their second injections is fine and most places have a toddler pool which are very war, so no need for hydrotherapy.

When I used to work at a pool, we said 3 months and over was okay.
Make sure the water is warm though, wee ones can get cold very quickly
