Obscure one this but recently when sending videos on WhatsApp, they've been arriving with the recipients blurry to the point of not being able to see owt. I can see them fine, so my guess is it's something to do with WhatsApp compressing the video as part of sending it.
I've changed the WhatsApp data setting to "send in original quality", but still having the same issue. And videos I receive on WhatsApp are absolutely fine.
So what's going on? Is it my phone camera recording videos at particularly high quality and that's screwing up the WA compression process?!
I believe WA supports media up to 16MB, and only H.264 for video, anything outside of this will get re-encoded.
Its normal for your nudes to be blurred unless the recipient has switched 'safe search' to off.
Send as a document. Allows them to be downloaded by the recipient without any compression.
WA has always mangled my videos (worse than FB even). Not yet found a way to sort this other than uploading to YouTube and linking from there which is a ballache for me and not as easy to view for the recipient.
