I think the BMS is shot in this bike battery. Battery outputs 35v at the terminals... But the BMS only sends 16v to the bike output. Also the battery status light won't stay.
I want to try another BMS (they are pretty cheap). Only problem is the old one is held in place by loads of white goo. What is it? How can I get rid of it? Do I have to cut it away, or is there something that might dissolve it? (Silicone seal eater?!)

The walrus certainly would be quite Thor if he'd put his goo all over 35v DC electrics.
It's silicon. But when you replace it is to make sure you use natural cure not the usual stuff that contains acetic acid.
