Didn't get to go riding yesterday because of this new garden gate. What's the best thing to treat it with? I'm not too worried about it looking pretty, more about not having to spend future weekends looking after it. Should I paint, stain or varnish?

Stain, take your pick from sikkens, cuprinol or ronseal.

As above, just avoid cheapo own brand products as they are nice and easy to use but they wont last 5 minutes.

Cheers guys. Guess it's cuprinol then as they have a shade that matches the Windows quite well.

I was upset when I found out the old one wasn't strong enough to prop up with a couple of house bricks in the road and make a jump out of it though.
