[#401372]

I usually have a tune in my head, either front & centre or in the back ground as a soundtrack to whatever I'm concentrating on.

We talked about this at work yesterday and one guy said that he never has songs in his head. I found this freakish and, well, just wrong. We agreed to disagree.

Anyway, 'Head Tunes' seem to be a preoccupation with me at the moment, so..

What's in your head?

we call them 'earwigs' (old family joke)

Woke up this morning with the pirates of the caribbean tune.

Could be worse, I had Kurly Minge 'I should be so lucky lucky lucky lucky' stuck in my head for about two days last year.

this morning it is 'Big Empty' by stone temple pilots. Dunno why, I haven't listened to it for months at least.

frequent ones that pop in are the pink panther music and Buffalo Soldier. I have neither of these 2 pieces of music in my collection/ipod. No idea why they 'appear' so often.

I think the germans also refer to a catchy tune as an 'ear-worm' (whatever that is in german)

Ton, that's a great tune by a fine band, but I often get the Yeah Yeah yeah song as an earworm instead, just don't sing the screamy bits out loud, you look a bit mental *apparently*

And if anyone can erase Uptown top rankin and Daphne and Celeste's U.G.L.Y from my head I would be eternally gratefull!!

Sean Keaveney on 6Music breakfast show refers to such things as ear-worms.

I have troubling vivid visual flashes of girls' throats, collarbones, ear-lobes, calves etc. Songs rather less. I sing snatches, but they do not run on in my head.

In the course of an ordinary day I see very few, if any, snatches. I have some difficulty visualising them. ๐Ÿ™‚

rustydub,

are you able to use that area for storage now? a tyre repair kit? multitool? light battery? mp3 player!

the possibilities could be endless!

(must have been one hell of a rough journey though, I trust all is better now?)

I like your suggestions for a storage area MrNutt,it has one flaw though in that a trailside crainiotomy to access the kit could prove a bit messy!

It has been a rough journey, for my familly more than me. As I always try and turn a negative into a positive. I am fitter than I have every been due to plenty of time and determination to get out and ride. It has left me with some long term effects, including bad balance, which can make some technical riding lets say a bit more "exciting"
Also there is no cure for brain tumours, so currently making the most of every day ๐Ÿ˜€

ah schoolboy error there Rusty, you should have ticked the "optional trailside crainioflap" box on the premed form!

not too long ago my GP advised me that "you might have Cancer", I can conclusively say that it came as "a bit of a shock", thankfully, after a very long wait for test results, it wasn't! thank god! but apparently he had to "cover all options", That was quite a shake up and made me assess my "priority's", which to be honest, made a vast improvement to my life and overall outlook!

here's to hoping that you've heard the last of it! ๐Ÿ™‚

MrNutt, I agree with your statement about vast improvement to life and overall outlook, certainly things which I prioritised as important before being ill have no importance now, but little things i took for granted are the most important to me now.

Getting back to the original thread, how about Achy breaky heart by Billy Ray Sirus as a tune which gets stuck in your head. Try enering a room full of people humming it and see the effect!

How many people will have that annoying them today then?
