Me in 1980 (at age 23) and my Mk2 Jaguar 😀. I had better taste in cars than clothes 😊 7-24-2008_007.jpg

Mid 90s Green hair, spiked dog collar (a real one not some "fashion piece" a real thick ,heavy dog collar off a stall on Chesterfield market that I adorned with stainless studs), huge boots, camo trousers, dads old donkey jacket, metal band T shirt. looking back it was a great look! I wish I had enough hair to dye now because i'd go green again in a heartbeat.

As a rebellious teen it seemed to ruffle all the right feathers (including being accused of being a demon by a street preacher!)

Watching the first Aston Villa game in 1875

On a slightly different topic, this photo was taken when I was an extra on an episode of Ripper Street.  I use it as my WhatsApp profile.  Waiting at a bar for the owner of the Airbnb we'd booked in Cadiz to come with the keys, I spotted a very flustered bloke looking around the square for somebody who matched the picture on his phone.

Mind you, the picture on my Senior Railcard is the spitting image of Jeffrey Epstien's custody photo.

Lilac patchwork Trolls... c.

I remember seeing those being advertised, but I couldn’t bring myself to buy them, so went for plain black ones, which I’ve still got somewhere. A couple of seams had come apart, but I’ve had them stitched up. Dunno when I’m likely to wear them, I live in shorts most of the time.

I’ve got very few photos of myself, and hardly any from years past, I never hung out with friends who had cameras around. 🤷🏼‍♂️

This is the only fairly old photo I’ve got, I was looking through a bag of packets of photos, and found one from when I went to the Vail World Championships, and there’s one that someone else on the trip took of me, with my SuperVee 3000; we were riding the fire road up to Mid Vail, at just over 10,000 feet.

I had a lot more hair in ‘94…

No tattoos back then, either. If you take a close look at the top of the main tube just by the water bottle and below the steerer, there’s some white writing - that’s Missy Giove’s signature, she signed my bike after winning the World Downhill on a SuperVee. 😁

Eeh, he thinks the sun shines out of his arse, that 'un!

PS I know it's a bit gauche to rib people about photos that they've posted online without also posting your own, but I'm afraid I am too much of a coward. Sorry.

When I had all my dreads cut off after not visiting a barber for 15 years. Took a long time to get used to the new look. Now I'm glad I've just got some hair still.

Believe me, you definitely didn’t look worse AFTER the dreads were cut off.

It was 1991. I no longer wear colour and I grew my hair out.

Similar look for me in the 90s. Fluro t-shirts and Bermuda shorts. Also went through the shellsuit phase, and bright Nevica jackets. Thought I had a photo but it must be on my other PC somewhere.

I think getting into snowboarding and skateboarding (and the associated hip hop and punk music) in 1995 saved me from becoming a raver/chav like most of my mates at the time, and I've dressed like a skatebum ever since.

As a student I stopped hair and beard cutting for quite a while, “luckily” I got a summer job on a farm lifting bales etc, went to near skinhead after my first very, very sweaty week at work.

I avoided shellsuits. This was a holiday look, and some stuff I used for biking, however most of the time it was blue or black jeans, some rock/metal T shirt and leather jacket. I think at that time, I was 16 so it would have been BK basketball boots on my feet....

Luckily no photos exist of my shellsuit phase. It was a lovely purple/green Reebok one!

I only had mine 2 years - but they had to go as they could only handle so much chlorine and swimming - But those would probably fit the thread criteria.

blame Dylan Tremblay.

I don't miss the craze for us all to have pixelated faces like a 90s computer game.

There was a point in the late 90's where I basically looked like Neil from the Young Ones.  I also owned a pair of stripey trousers.  I don't know what I was thinking but it really wasn't a good look!

I was pretty blind back in the day -6 or thereabouts and wore Deirdre Langton big glasses, no wonder I had a complex

1999 I got zapped but 27 years on I'm back to -2.5 but Oakley £100 great fit and don't mind wearing them although they are on my hair half the time to read anything

In 6th form, mid 80's I decided to get my hair permed. By my mum.

When I was in 6th form (late 80's) one of the guys decided to get his hair highlighted in the 6th form block, by one of the other 6th formers. Ended up looking like songthrush plumage, but with inverted colours.

That was after the flat top, and the wet-look gel perm phase.

Me in the 80's would have looked similar to OP, especially the thumb hookage.

Thinking about it, I have a 1980s high school era photo somewhere.  Jeans, pastel colours and a Frank Sidebottom haircut.  I'll see if I can find it.

Once I got to Uni I grew out my enforced side parting, I spend a good while with a very bad haircut.  My difficult second album is going to be Accidental Mullet but it was worth it eventually.  I was going to say "it's amazing I ever got laid" but then I remembered, I didn't.

Kicking around somewhere is a photo of a 14 or 15 year old long haired me in the late 70s. I'm on a school bus trip to Switzerland with my head in a bucket after drinking two thirds of a bottle of duty free whiskey before getting out of bed that morning. It was meant to be a present to take home for my dad. And another one of me laid on a pavement puking into the lake in Interlaken. Neither were very good looks!

Went through the mullet phase in the early/mid 80s which was questionable but fashionable followed by the strange decision to wear my hair in a pony tail while the top went thinner and thinner until there was nowt left. Photos of that period make me cringe. Thankfully I eventually saw sense and shaved what was left off and been a baldy ever since.

I've no actual photos from that time, but I reckon the Police have quite a number.

I reckon it has to be my 1990/91 triple denim days...jeans, shirt and levi's trucker jacket. (No photos thank goodness) Topped off with the frilled (no tassels though) loafers.

About a year later I started wearing polo t-shirts instead. Much better...😳

Oh, I definitely have Double Denim evidence from exactly the same time.  Complete with Converse basketball boots.

Is it possible to wear a denim jacket these days?  The last time I wore mine was at a 1980s party event.

Definiteley, I still occasionally do although OH ribs me for the double denim thing. A few weeks ago a mate of ours who is certainly of a cooler look than me came to the pub sporting the double denim look so I was able to use him as my justification.

Is it possible to look cool if you are wearing Dunlop basketball boots? - asking for a friend. Used to call em baseball boots when I was a kid or is that something different?

i worked with a fella once who had the full wigga blond dreadset. Turned up on day without them. He’d realised he actually gone bald and had been wearing a dread hat for some time…
