Fantastic table
Latest mini lathe project - headset tool. The bottom piece is threaded M12, the top drilled 12mm and tightened with the nut. The steps are 1". 1.125", 1.25" 1.5".
Now all I need is a bike that needs it's headset bearings replaced. I will be retiring my trusty pieces of wood and hammer!

I'm intrigued. What are they, fuel tanks?
for fancy signage. they're getting powdercoated and have graphics going up on all sides then stuck atop big poles.

@murray maybe needs a thrust bearing to prevent binding but good effort!
@retrodirect micrometer depth gauge?
that and the lasercut faceplate.
Are we allowed to include things our mates have made? Theres some truly stunning woodworking on here - that table of Kayaks is an absolute work of art - so I thought I'd share this.
Its a chopping board I picked up from my mate Lee the other day. He does lovely one-off pieces. It's oak and walnut and is a truly wonderful thing. I'm scared of using it!
If you're interested you can check out his other stuff on Instagram @Woodshed_co
I made this a while back for my mother but seeing Binners post above reminded me of it.

There is a little dip in the based to hold a pen that was exactly the width of the top of the clock. The base was slightly narrower so it was easier to pick up the pen. Mum wanted on her desk so she could make notes and record the times of conversations when she was working as an advisor and time of call was important.
A couple of recent paintings. The Horses of the Camargue was a challenge from a friend because apparently horses and the sea are two of the hardest things to paint. The Needles in the Evening is the first of three I am working on. All the same shot of the needles but one in sunshine, one in clouded weather and one in full sunshine. The other two are still in early stages at the moment.

Very nice WCA
Murray - paintings or clock?
Here are a set of paintings I did recently - from left to right and then to the table

Poor crochet duck! Looks good for now though.
Poor crochet duck!
The crochet dog is astoundingly impressive though.
The duck bears a passing resemblance to Sajid Javid.
I've not drawn for years, well this century Really. So turning 40 I asked my mum for a set of Derwent pastel pencils and I've had a few previous attempts. This was a starling I photographed from a bedroom window in the tree outside.
A few attempts on standard pastel paper then I switched onto Clairefontaine Pastelmat.
I had some paint and pallets lieing around

Oooh, I've just realised that you could triangulate and locate me. If you are coming over to hammer sausages into my dog can you cut the lawn first please?
Good signpost work there Ambrose 👍
You could have added a vertical one to the post (just for today ๐ )with PRICK Branson Space 🚀
Aaarh- a missed opportunity!
I made a clockย It is for my brother, currently in Adelaide. Friends and family contributed pebbles that I set into resin filled recesses in the clock face that was made from an old garden table from his house in Cornwall. It is set to Australian time so that I know when I phone I can wake him up at an ungodly hour.

Tried my hand at making some picture frames.
A floating frame made from some reclaimed pine boards and a gallery frame (needs glass) from some reclaimed oak.

Have enjoyed this thread immensely over the years, there are some amazingly talented people on STW. Thank you all.
A lightweight, 10" guitar cab, to go with my tiny Vox MV50 amp.

This thread has always made me feel thoroughly ashamed of my lack of practical ability.
Yesterday I did make a dinky pair of powerlink pliers from a cheap big pair using only a hacksaw, file and insulation tape.
I also made a weatherproof rear light out of a non-weatherproof rear light, an o ring, a trimmed down rubber plumbing seal and superglue.
I also made three birdboxes earlier in the year out of some old planks.
This is the height of my DIY achievements.
I needed a headset tool, none were coming up on ebay, and I refuse on principle to buy cheap Chinese rubbish. What's the only rational thing to do - make your own! It took me about a month, as I have two small kids. Most of that time was spent working out how to draw straight lines on a cylinder.
I used a steerer, cut from an old fork in my junk pile.
After all that, took about 2 minutes to get the old headset cups out. Result
This is the height of my DIY achievements.
So get the pics up then.

Think that's a no then to posting pics on STW!
@Murray - thanks. I got the saw from a rusty old box of tools that had been left out on the curb. It looked terrible when I got it, but I tried an electrolysis rust removal process, and it worked out great (although it doesn't fix the surface pitting). It's an Eclipse, stamped sometime in the 40's.

Nice one retrodirect, I've seen videos of greenhouses made like that with plastic tubes, the wood strips look cooler.
Finaly finished this, started it last year but not touched it for ages.

A pair of rough n ready storage boxes for under the workbench. One to hold clamps, one for... was going to be old screws/nails/brackets/hings/odds-n-sods collection but too much effort into them (although it may not look like much effort went into them). Also the blue is a much brighter blue than it appears here.
A base for the Raspberry Pi and Lepy amp just to keep them together and stop them getting jostled around so much.

In the background is a pair of parts for another ongoing project - the Roger Musson Wheel Truing stand.
I made these old, hardboard nailed onto softwood frames yellowing painted 70s wardrobe doors...

...into these sleek, push to open, birch plywood doors with ply-edge vertical trim.

If I'd have done that job, (TBF, I wouldn't have done THAT job, far from it) my missis would have come back with,
'Nah, I preferred it the way it was. Can you put it back?'
Every time. It's become a standard joke. They look really smart now.
🤣^^^
