Sandwich, those cardamom buns look great! I could eat three right now. Did you find the recipe online, or in a book? I’d like to give them a go.

I follow the first three instructions as is in the mixer with a standard beater. I melt the butter and add that with the milk/water mix (use gold top milk) to the flour using a dough hook. Extra flour goes in at this point to make the dough the right consistency. The flour I'm currently using needed around 50 to 70g more.
I found that I only needed around 15g of cardamom/sugar mix to sprinkle over the finished twisted buns, 95g into the filling mix at step 7.
The glaze is lovely stuff, enjoy.

@timidwheeler The sausage roll are from BBC Good Food website and are adapted from their marmite and cheddar recipe. Same amounts of stilton and chilli jam as for marmite and cheddar. https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/cheese-marmite-sausage-rolls
Top tip give the chilli jam or marmite a whizz in the microwave so that it doesn't tear the pastry when spreading it. The marmite one is bad for this.

I made a small oak side table, those legs are fiddly but satisfying when they are done...
It's not quite finished yet (hopefully this weekend) but I made a mud kitchen for the littlun, out of a couple of pallets and a bunch of offcuts and spare bits. Only thing I've bought so far is the plastic bowl.
Nice. Pro tip with the jig saw attach it to a bit of wood and screw the wood to the centre of where you want the circle.

That's a brilliant idea. I need to make a cover for the hole so I'll give that a go.
I've not used a jigsaw in years, took me ages to dig it out the loft. I'd definitely do it better / differently if I did it again, but it does the job. Drilling all the guide holes probably actually made it harder rather than easier.
I hate them I'd go as far to say thats probably the only thing i thing a jigsaw might be the best tool for!

I was looking at this picture over several years. As I boned up on it it became clear that most of the posh art commentators didn't understand FM Brown's politics and therefore failed to connect with his caustic humour and observations. Come the lockdown, I was a bit concerned (a few friends got it badly) that I might not be putting the bins out in three weeks' time so I had better record some thoughts. So I emptied my phone, did it, then re-did it and edited the subs for the hard-of-hearing.

Does virtual making count? I've started learning Blender, this is the baseplate from an Independent skateboard truck (though some of the measurements are on the wonk).

I've had a Raspberry Pi 4 sat inside the cabinet the TV stands on which made IR remote use a bit hit & miss and long wanted to attach it to the back of the TV but the M8 recessed bolt holes meant it wasn't a 5 minute job I could bodge together with a strip of alu and a random bolt like the last TV.
Eventually dawned on me to use the length of L profile aluminium I bought for an abandoned overly complicated PI case project. Ordered some nylon stand off spacers from ebay, and a packet of M8 button head bolts.
I already had a IR receiver soldered to a header, but decided to practice my soldering skills and solder a spare IR receiver to another header but so it would point upwards. I pulled some of the pins out to make soldering easier.
So that's it. Nothing amazing. Looks over engineered but I didn't want the kids pulling it about.

Cut ends all treated before fitting and are on top as I wanted the treated end down but off the deck.

Do you mean as in it's green? It's moisture resistant mdf which comes green. It paints better in my experience. The edges do anyway.

As wife will be WFH for the foreseeable future she needed a better desk than the kitchen table. Lockdown limited options so got hold of some old 5"x2" pine beams that used to be in the shed of a cement factory. None of them were perfectly straight or true and were all heavily impregnated with grot and cement dust....
Pressure hosed down to get rid of dust, sanded down to get rid of the worst skelfs and edges
Sash clamped together, pocket hole screws

Flip over and make router frame and sledge to get a flat surface

Queue tedium of doing 175cm of routing at 10mm intervals

Saw ends off, sand down

Hi Biggles missed your comment yesterday. I used 175mm x 32mm featheredge cladding (the yard were surprised that I was using it for fencing). 3.6m lengths were £5.40 each and I cut these in two. The boards are fixed to cant rails top and bottom, the rails were 2.4m each and cost around £4 a length. The rails are bolted to the original posts with coach bolts. Total material cost including screws was under £240 delivered.
Herself said I was slow working but it was painstaking stuff as I'm not a natural wood worker and I like to start late, just over 2 days to dismantle and replace that run. I used clamps to hold the planks while I got them plumb and level before screwing them to the rail.
I've priced the fence to the right as that's ours too and it comes at just shy of £800 using 1.6m x 22mm featherdedge, similar cant rail and new posts with post fix.
