I've got budget of about £50 to get new keyboard and mouse for home.

Is there a difference between wireless and Bluetooth or are all wireless keyboards actually Bluetooth?

Its for a Windows 10 laptop. Currently use stock HP wired keyboard.

"Wireless" ones have a little tiny USB receiver to plug in. "Bluetooth" ones don't because they use the laptop's built in bluetooth (assuming it has it).
Can't recommend one. I just buy whichever microsoft or logitech one is the cheapest when I need one.

Yes and the wireless ones with dongles don't necessarily use bluetooth protocols. If they're Bluetooth they'll say explicitly.

Logitech K870 here, no idea on price as it's a work one. Bluethoothed to a Mac and connection is generally great, only problems I've had have been when the Mac plays up.

I've learned to love the button feel, but it takes a while to get into.

works go to option of choice (and my home).. only £20. Im sure there are perfectly valid reasons for paying 4 x as much, but i can't figure out what...

Get one with a tiny dongle.

I have a *picks keyboard up to check* Logitech K220 which has been faultless for the last 4-ish years but the usb dongle sticks out of the side of the laptop by about 35mm and it's a miracle I haven't snapped it off while lifting the laptop.

Does anyone use the Logitech 270 with a docking station? Currently have a wired mouse and keyboard plugged in to it

Went with a MK270 for first home desk we set up this year, but for the second paid the tenner extra for a MK295 and think it's very much worth it for the silent keys. The MK270 makes a hell of a racket of you want to type during a call.

EDIT

Does anyone use the Logitech 270 with a docking station?

That will be fine. I have the wireless dongle plugged into a USB port on my monitor and then just plug the computer into the monitor via USB. USB-C in this case, which transfers video, power and the keyboard/mouse.

Get one with a tiny dongle.

Logitech call this a Nano Receiver.

Logitech call this a Nano Receiver.

That would be more difficult for Elton John to sing about.

That is what I went for, mainly so I can silently post on STW whilst pretending to be interested in work calls

Exactly!

Oh yeah, the "nano-receiver" is pretty well hidden in the packaging so don't lob it in the bin and then think they haven't sent you one. That would be, eeerr, really stupid and not something I would have done at all.

Yes, I've got the dongle plugged into one of the USB slots on my docking station (HP USB-C Universal Dock) and it works just fine.
