Pumping up two 12 foot boards takes too long. Can anyone recommend a pump? Most seem to have mixed reviews.

nothing to add - I've seen pumps but always assumed they wouldn't be capable to deliver enough pressure so interested to follow this.

I've got the OBrien 12V SUP Electric Air Pump which is pretty good, but definitely slower than just doing the SUP by hand.

When blowing up 2 I tend to start one on the electric pump, do the other by hand and then get changed - that usually works out about right timing wise. If I'm only blowing up one SUP I just do it by hand.

We got this for 1 SUP which has been fine for the last 2 months. Goes to 15 psi. Although not currently available at amazon:

Yeah hadn't thought about doing them both at the same time. Doh.

Got any power tools?

This sort of thing works well to get them semi hard and then use a hand pump to finish off?

(I have seen hire operators use this method hence the suggestion)

Lidl had a cordless air pump and compressor for £25 last week. They usually come around on sale again at some point.

I've got the Sevylor one in the amazon link above. Plug it in first and let the board inflate while I'm getting everything else ready. Then top up to 17PSI with the hand pump. Board is a 12'8" McConks and takes around 8-10 minutes.

I bought that Lidl one. Theres a low pressure/high volume pump for airbeds etc and a high pressure one for tyres.

Both good. The low pressure one is ridiculously powerful and very quick

It's at 6:03 here

I thought hand pumping them up was the only part of the endeavour that provided any exercise. 🤷‍♂️

when I was in france I saw a couple using an extra large pumpsack to get the majority of air into the sup, then top it off with a pump. I don't know if it would be quicker than just pumping, but it looked like a good idea

I have the sevylor too.it only gets to about 12.5 PSI despite saying it will do 15. I set it running while I’m farting about getting everything else sorted and finish with the hand pump.

It is fairly noisy so if you are in a nice peaceful spot or early in the morning for example, you are going to annoy people.
