Rode a few miles up to friends house to see to their cat and chickens as they are on holiday - rode home. Changed the brake cables, striped down brakes and replaced the bar tape on my cx/commuter. Walked 3 miles into town to go to football match, ate steak and haggis pie, watched Kilmarnock win 3-0, walked home - son usually goes with me but he's away to grandpas with mum for a couple of days.

Wasn't happy with bar tape on rhs around brake leaver so took it off when I came home and sorted it - much neater now.

About to make dinner and have a beer, home alone so I can do what I want.

Mentally preparing for a long road ride tomorrow in strong winds.

The cider's already been made, and beer tastes best fresh, you'd have complained if we'd bought it and stockpiled it in February.

Got up at 6am.

Drove 95 miles to work.

Walked around 10 miles on rail tracks to hand back a job to the client in what seemed like baking hot temperatures due to PPE that must be worn on track.

Drove 95 miles home.

Drink beer, watch tele - repeat to end

Cycled around a very wet and windy north wales for 6 hours should have been a 4 hour ride but got lost about 5 times. Got soaking wet covered in sheep and horse shit and boiled my front brake on the drop down from Loggerheads to Ruthin which was amusing when I came round a bend flat out to find some tit in an SUV doing a 33 point turn in the road

ps. Had a smashing time

Flew back from Vancouver... I am now addressing my depression and the fact that I've been awake for 30+ hours with a couple of Innis and Gunn and the holiday ironing.

got up, went to supermarket, and then went to Sherwood Pines for a couple of laps.
came home, cleaned bike...

took number 1 daughter for 30 min pootle round a deserted car park, then generally pottered about in the back garden.

noticed that my lower jockey wheel looks as pointy as a throwing star and has kind of ovalised in the centre - attention required methinks....

Went camping yesterday with my lad (last minute thing). Went to Abergavenny, woke up this morning, walked up Sugerloaf, decided weather was to shite to bother with the route we'd mapped out, so went back down. It was cool though

Took my son to his football training and then we went to Stamner park after lunch to watch a bit of the racing. A lot of people coming back round to the start finish line saying it was a lot harder than they thought. I've promised him an Islabike for Christmas and decided I need something other than the off road commuter for the weekends. But what....
