A mate came across a load of these strewn about today.

This is all I have "Out for a walk this morning and came across a shedload of these just scattered around a field. Must have been about a hundred of them. Anyone know what they are? I picked one up so if they're depleted uranium or something I could do with knowing about it."

Any sewage works nearby?

Could be the media from a filter bed.

Some people do work in the sewage/sewerage industry. I did for some years.

My old job involved cruising around the sewage works of the south east filling up bottles with poo.

Tbh it was an ace job most of the time 🙂

Yep - that's them. Logo's the same.

I'm asking him how they could have ended up there now.

And recommending that he wash his hands.

My sewage process knowledge is sketchy these days but no it shouldn’t really be possible. The sludge is settled out before it goes through the filter beds I think. And the filter beds have liquid effluent dripped through the media, which should always just remain in the bed.

Someone will know & explain it better than me though. It was about 15 years ago now that I used to do it.

Was there a flood in the field?
Sewage leaked got into river and when waters receded they left these behind?

Would they make it intact through the gubbins of a muck spreader?

Update: "These were just in a field and there wasn't a conspicuous pile or lake of effluent nearby so I'm none the wiser how they got there."

So here ends the thread.
