We need to sort a theme for our village Christmas fair.Last year it was Frozen and that was really popular.
We had the princesses turn on the lights and have their pictures taken with the kiddies.
Star Wars has been suggested but that's not really going to appeal to mums and daughters.
Ideas please.

I've never seen Star Wars but I assume there's not a lot of pink in it.

Minecraft is nicely unisex in reality but as usual many parents will no doubt consider that to be a boy's thing...

You could argue frozen was more aimed at girls.. so being gender neutral is probably not a good measure, minecraft still seems big and its easy to make stuff using boxes!
Edit: 4 primary school girls in the next room playing minecraft at the moment.... 8)

Kinda my point, but I should clarify.
The likes of Frozen is more likely to appeal to a female audience, and Star Wars to male. But there's no reason whatsoever why girls might not like Star Wars too, and should be allowed if not actively encouraged to do so. Anecdotally, a mate of mine's young son is obsessed with Frozen. Gender stereotyping is lazy and, on the whole, not a good thing.
Discourage a young girl from liking Star Wars now because it's not pink enough, you might've just crushed the future career of an amazing engineer. But it's ok, I'm sure she can be a secretary or something.
If this is an ongoing event, why not alternate? Frozen last year, Star Wars this year, My Little Pony the next. (There is an absolutely astonishing number of "Bronies" kicking around, the last sci-fi / geek con I went to had an entire track devoted to it.)
Not my little pony what ever you do!! I've yet to convert my girls to start wars but I'm pretty certain I can, they are quite happy to do what would be considered less girls oriented. They do like Lego friends though rather than the tech stuff which upsets me a lot!
For kids an orange, a hoop and a stick.
For the pervy uncle an orange, a bin liner and a length of cord.
So an orange theme.

Argos & ASDA were both all over the radio today advertising the full range of over 200 Star Wars toys... That said - I want one of these sooooo bad....
How about a rally radical theme of......Christmas? Y'know, the Christian story behind it?
Or Christmas........that's about fairy tales and make believe isn't it.
Or play to your target market, 75%+ of which won't go anywhere near a church and make it a winter pagan festival 😉

A Christmas themed jumble sale at Christmas? - if you've seen the old folk going at it 0.05 seconds after opening time there's precious little goodwill to all men going on!
