I got Whammed in November; does that count or am I still in?
It came on R5 last night - they were saying it's 40(?) years since original relelase so obvz played a bit of it. I didn't hang around to see what their listeners had to say about that !
Not played for a couple of years but I did hear it on Sunday afternoon when in my local.
Do covers count as to being Whammed?
Got taken out on the 1st by a bl**dy rickshaw riding past in London.

So according to the 2nd rule Ernie is still in, and according to the 3rd rule, it's only the Wham version that counts.
December 1st. Christmas playlist playing in the car. I don't actively play and try and avoid it but I normally manage more than 12 hours.
I'm still surviving but have now got the horrible song stuck in my head.
Yep, arrived in a cafe yesterday to be knocked out by their background tunes...mrs_oab and I both made Christmas last year, so gutted to be out so early..

I dodged a bullet yesterday at the dentist. My other half heard it in the waiting room. Fortunately for me they had a different station on in the treatment room 🙂
I can't remember if it's played in this, but I'm granting an exemption if it is as it wouldn't be "getting caught" by Wham, would it? One of the longer cafe ride videos and well worth a watch. Stephens and Ridgeley on great form, loveley chilled vid.

Out on December 2nd. As was anyone else walking into and out of Waterloo Station on Monday evening as the infernal pedal rickshaw was playing it at full whack at the entrance. Along with a light show!
Still in , yet to hear any Xmas music despite crap music being everywhere. Made it last year.
planning on Christmas on Tierra del Fuego, so got a good chance.
I don't actively "play" as such, but have avoided it so far. My propensity for cafes with background music is likely to be where I fall foul.

Not playing, I’m coming up short on the number of phucs I couldn’t give for shit Christmas songs! I only ever listen to 6Music, and then only in the car, I’ve got quite a few good Christmas/seasonal songs in my library, but I can’t be arsed with playlists, and the only shops in town where I’d be likely to hear anything like that were flooded out a week ago and are likely closed for most of December.

yay @bunnyhop ! Me too. It’s my absolutely favourite Christmas song and I go out of my way to listen to it 😀 All the other songs played at this time of year are complete Christmas pants. I don’t know why people go out of their way to avoid the one good one.
Survived an hour long taxi ride across Dublin with the taxi driver playing a Christmas mix on Spotify. I like to live dangerously.

I don't think it's any kind of comment on the quality of the song. Just a game trying to avoid something so prevalent. It's a great song hence why it's everywhere 🙂
I'm on 6 Music so should be fairly safe for a while. Liking the more niche side of Christmas songs they'll play.

Taken out by my own family! Walked down the stairs this morning and Wham! playing on a Christmas playlist. Tis the last time I give Mrs F and the kids access to my Tidal account.
Radio 4 must have done it for a few if you this morning. Broadcasting House had an item on the track with interview of Shirley.
Dropped car off for its MOT at Arnold Clark (it was part of the "free" service plan).
