and bang, wasp sting on the shoulder. Awoke to a buzzing flicked it away thinking usual mosquito type midge thing but no I just activated the anger switch. Never had such a mild sting from a wasp though. Mrs ws wasn't impressed as it landed on her. 😆

Wasps have been dropping down our chimneys for a couple of weeks now, maybe one every couple of days. It's getting cold outside 🙂

I got stung (under the helmet, missus) by a half-asleep-half-dead one a month or so ago. It was like a pathetic joke.

Got stung - again under the helmet - by one in full summer rage mode back in September and it turned my head into a puffy mess.

Wouldn't fancy being attacked in bed though..

We sometimes find them hiding in folds of the curtains at this time of year.

Was expecting a different sort of rude awakening in this thread, TBH.

About a month ago, I had to shut the kitchen and man cave windows, because out of nowhere one morning it seemed eery local wasp wanted to come into our flat! Must have caught 12 or so with a tumbler and paper, then release them out the front door with a virtual kick.

Found the first big monster wood wasp wandering across the lounge carpet at the weekend. We get a few every winter, They always seem to come from the bay window area, maybe fold in curtains as suggested above is the source.

I would have thought that after getting stung the first time you'd have stopped putting your knob in a wasps nest....

Are you sure it wasn't the same one 12 times?

Down in the Pyrenees this summer got stung on the ball bag by a Hornet in the middle of the night. That was a right shock. Pulled it off my balls and it stung my finger as well. Bloody massive the thing was!!

Hurt for days after.

I said to the missus that I might go to the doctors, and she said see if you can get something to take away the pain but leave the swelling!!!

'Boom tisch' for Mrs Ads 🙂

Yes that time of year, spiders and a bl00dy mouse this year (still not caught it). Just glad the mosquitos have gone 2016 was a terrible year for them - sleeping with holiday anti-mosy device on for months and even wore DEET for a bit
