TV is getting better but don't expect Sky levels of choice especially for the HD side of things. Have absolutely no grumbles about the phone and broadand side of it. Although just hang up if you call customer services and get through to their offshore call centre, they are useless.

Oh and the on demand service is pretty damn good, plus the v+ box lets you record 2 channels while watching a third

I'm pretty happy with it. 10Mb works as advertised most of the time, only had a couple of outages of a couple of hours in about a year.

The box we have is very old and clunky though - hopefully newer ones are better. Still does iPlayer and other catchup services though.

Dreadful - avoid like the plague. After 2 months of trying (and failing) to get them to port our phone number, I gave up and demanded my money back. Several letters and calls later, I finally got my £75 refunded. Then they sent me letters from a debt collection agency saying that we owed them £75, and they were going to take us to court. It's a real shame they're so useless, because the V+ box and broadband were both good.

I have L broadband and phone and XL TV with a V+ box and second standard box - basically got upgrades by threatening to leave to Sky.

Anyway, I'm very happy with Virgin - the broadband's fast, the TV has lots on (but not so much HD as Sky as mentioned above - basically only BBC HD and then on demand shows though apparently more will be available soonish)

The only thing to watch out for is that Virgin's made up of a lot of different infrastructures from where they've bought up other companies (eg I used to be with Telewest before Virgin bought them) and so some areas are much better than others. I'm in Bristol FYI.

Not had a problem with them in about 3 years. Broadband is fast and a lot better than the old telephone exchange based Noah's arc stuff that's around. TV is ok not as good as sky for the HD stuff although you can watch BBC HD on iplayer through your pc.

been with them for about 3 years and had no issues. Broadband is good and v reliable (much more so than adsl ime), TV has programmes on (lots of kids channels which is mainly what it gets used for).

On demand and catch up service is very handy, especially as it's free

Well well people aren't updating their HD boxes. We've now got channel 4 HD, FX HD and National Geographic HD. Oh and If you have XL TV instead of setanta we now have ESPN HD!!!! The worst part about them is the box. Very clunky (mine's only 2 months old so I guess one of the new ones.) On demand stuff beats sky all day long; iplayer, itvplayer, channel 4 on demand, warner, HBO plus loads more. Plus you can watch loads of full series (just watched sopranos series 3.) the upscaler in their HD boxes is better than skys. And as someone said 3 tuners instead of sky's 2 so you can record 2 and watch 3 (while I think recording it). Pretty good variety of channels.Internet has just been proved to be fastest for what they say you get. So when they say 10meg, in most cases u get it. Never touched the phone really.

Hope this has been some help

The service they provide when it's been installed is brilliant, however getting it installed (for me at least) has been a nightmare. I took the morning off work last thursday for them to come between 8-1, when they hadn't turned up by 1 i rang them and got a foreign call centre who assured me they would be there in 3 hours and that "i wouldn't have to wait" to which i pointed out 3 hours is waiting!

They didn't turn up by 2:30 so i rang and got through to the UK who basically admitted that they give out more installation slots than they can manage to do in a day on the chance that some take less time than normal so they can fit another few in. I got told that someone from the installation team would call me in 5 mins. They didn't so i called back. This was then repeated 4 times until at 6pm i was told that they had all gone home and i'd wasted a whole day off waiting for them to come. not happy. So now having to wait for another installation slot. They also told me that they wouldn't have been able to install the phone anyway as there aren't enough free slots at the local exchange, this is despite me already having a number with them as i've used them at my past address for 2 years! Have written them a letter stating that i expect a days wage to make up for my leave i had to take or they can shove it. At the time they offered me 1 months free subscription and free anytime calls for a year (which they had already offered me as they'd upgraded my broadband some time ago without telling me, yet charging mt £2 a month more...)

this is in bristol btw.

Been with Comtel/NTL/Virgin for years now, all pretty good once they are set up but truely dreadful if anything goes wrong & you need customer service.

Very good when it works (which is most of the time).

Very infrequently goes wrong, and their customer services are a shambles.

Ta for that - I wouldn't have gone looking for them but it seems they're there. Looking forward to ESPN HD if they show the Monday Night footy. Also Mrs Higs will be watching the Eredivisie (she's Dutch).
