A long shot but here goes...
Im going to Vietnam in December and need to organise a Visa on Arrival.
Can anyone recommend a reputable agent, there seem to be a few dodgy ones out there and most general advice forums moderate links to agents.
We've heard it's a minefield so any advice appreciated.
Thanks
5 years ago a visa on arrival meant handing over ~$30 and your passport.
Just sent a friend this message. She's gone to HMC for the week. I'll let you know if it really is VoA or not.
I used vietnam-visa.com
No issues at all. I think they wait until they have about 15 folk to put through on the one visa than submit it. Took a couple of days for me to get approved.
Visa on Arrival. Passport, proof of hotel, photos, $ I recall. Queue up at booth at airport. The hotel can usually speed things up by doing some stuff in advance.
First time I went (20yrs ago) we got visas from London embassy but no need now.
Where are you going ?

Vietnam has introduced an online information portal containing visa information, including which type of visa you should apply for. There is also an application form which you can complete online, print and take to the nearest Embassy or Consulate of Vietnam. If you arrive in Vietnam with a written approval letter for a visa to be issued on arrival, the fee will be payable in cash only, either $US or Vietnam Dong.

i successfully used these guys for numerous trips to Vietnam when I was there on business, with no issues whatsoever. http://govietnamvisa.com/
I used these guys last year to apply for an electronic 'pre-aproval' letter.. Then hand over passport at immigration on arrival and pay $30. No problems at all.

How long are you travelling for and what passport? There is a visa-waiver scheme for UK travellers for visits up to 15 days...
Thanks for the feedback so far.
Unfortunately we're going for 18 days so have to get a multi-entry Visa,
Itinerary;
HCMC - Siem Reap - Battambang - Phnom Penh - Chau Doc - Can Tho - HCMC
Thanks
The site I posted is the official Vietnam one so worth checking there
The guys I suggested will apply for a multi-entry version of the electronic pre-approval letter (for a charge of something less than $20).
I went for a month and got my Visa in Bangkok, took 24 hrs from a travel shop.
Is there any reason why you don't send your passport off to the London Embassy and get a visa before you go ? - in the last few years (before the visa waiver scheme) I've done this several times and they usually turn the application round pretty quickly (within a week).
