Anyone had any experience of cheaper end vacuum sealers. I see there are a good few on ebay for around the £30 mark. I mainly want it for fresh fish fr freezing in the hope I can keep it for longer without it getting freezer burn. Any recommendations and links to specific machines and bags you use would be great. Also given the price range £30 to a few hundred are the cheaper ones worth bothering with or a case of you get what you pay for?

Can’t help with a view on the cheaper machines but I’ve had a foodsaver machine for over four years now and it’s still fine.

We buy whole rib-eyes and sirloins and break down as needed and freeze, no issues with freezer burn 6-9 months seem fine.

We also sous-vide a lot and the machine is invaluable for that.

The bags and rolls are as important as the machine I’ve tried the cheaper offerings from Amazon and had them fail in both the freezer and sous-vide, a friend sourced some elsewhere and had the same experience. I now stick with foodsaver rather that risk ruined food.
