[#2495302]

Back in the past a horse race used to be held on short bit of road [.40 mile] near where I live.

During my rides I use it as sprint section.

Often I wondered about trying organize/suggest race/trial type thing but move it away from horses to bikes.

Do you need permission for time trial or road race ?

Race yes, not sure about TT's these days (they came about because racing was banned so they got around it). Might just require liability insurance etc.

So..
Yes for Race
No for TT

I'll do some more research into liability etc. Or just make it a early Sunday morning type thing ๐Ÿ˜‰

I thought differing bike types. Road, MTB, bmx what ever. Sort of RedBull Hill chaser type thing. The horse race used to be called "The Waterloo Horse Races" held each on the 18th June.

Isn't it a liability thing in that you are organising an event where people can turn up..

As above, but you still need to notify the police of a TT.

Consider getting some organiser's insurance.

If a RR, speak to BC or TLI about how they do it.
If a TT, speak to CTT.
