Ok we've had the poodle rock, how about the 'stop taking yourself so seriously' music listing.

I'll start:
The Sisters Of Mercy - Temple of Love (83)
Fields Of The Nephilim - Moonchild
Skeletal Family - Promised Land
Play Dead - Shine
The Mission - Wasteland
Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead
The March Violets - Snake Dance
Red Lorry Yellow Lorry - Chance
The Southern Death Cult - Moya

Over to you lot

Could you call UK Decay goths????? Maybe proto goth, I hope I haven't come up with some new music genre there.

I will say UK Decay - For my country

marylin manson - beautiful people

+1 - Marylin is the King of Goth anthems... I quite like his stuff, and I don't have a penchant for white makeup and black cloaks...

The Swans

Burning World or White Light From the Mouth of Infinity albums.

If you're still feeling cheerful after that try Greed,Time is Money/Bastard or Raping a Slave.
That will sort the men from the floppy fringed Emo wusses

JAMC can fit into goths, but you can't have the whole album!

How about a couple from Jesus and Mary Chain, probably Never Understand and Just Like Honey? Not strictly goth either, but seemed close enough at the time.

Edit: beaten to it by the three minutes in which I've watched five of their videos on Youtube.

If I can remember correctly I think there was a collaboration between Bob Smith from the Cure and some of the Banshees.
Band was called The Glove(maybe) and LP was Blue Sunshine.
Don't have my vinyl anymore-long time since I heard it.

Alien Sex Fiend-great blast from the past.

First Banshees album The Scream is very good too.
Love and Rockets (post Bauhaus)worth a listen and if the Cocteau Twins are in then check Dead Can Dance for some beautiful sounds

Eloise was ok but there's much more gothic stuff in The Damned's back catalog.
Anything from The Black Album, for example, or The Limit Club, Sanctum Sanctorum, etc

When I were a lad, Robin Guthrie used to come in and see his brother who's office was across the corridor from my dad's in Grangemouth. He was a really nice guy. I made him tea a couple of times and he gave me some CD's.

Cult - she sells sanctuary
Alien sex fiend- New christian music
Creatures- Right now
Siouxsie and the Bannshees- Eve white/eve black
Creaming jesus- Lillies

rosetta stone- adrenaline
virgin prunes- baby turns blue and walls of jericho
