Surprised how little the swing is to Lib Dems
LibDems have had an amazing election. Look for the positive.
Pretty happy with the results so far, especially JRM losing. Worried about the rise of Reform and Farage though.
Dare we start to dream of better times in the not too distant future? It's going to take a lot to undo the damage of the last 14 years but we have to start somewhere.
I wonder where Liz Truss is hiding?
count in North Norfolk and Truss hasn't turned up apparently
I live on the edge of Barnsley, and pleased the two main seats that cover the area stayed Labour after the exit poll seemed to suggest they’d both go Reform. My constituency went from Conservative to Labour too.
However, despite voting Labour this time, looking at some of the new cabinet doesn’t fill me with masses of confidence. I’m clinging on to the fact that no matter how bad people like Streeting are, no one could be worse than the last lot!
Also seems Truss is gone - that and Mogg are my favourites tonight! She seems to have done a runner now they’re about to call it!
slow handclap for her now.....

I don’t see how they can. Labour have said they won’t tax more, they won’t invest more, they have no real plans, yes it can’t get much worse, but I do t see it getting any better. I fear for the NHS

Yes but not enough to stop the damage Labour will do
She's turned up...
Disappointed that the cons won my new constituency (Aphra Brandreth - I wonder if daddy's name had anything to do with it?) as it was a close run thing in the polls previously, but very pleased that Labour have stuffed them generally.
At least reform don't so far appear to have done nearly so well as the exit predictions.
400-odd votes, and Truss is out
Amazingly the massively conservative Worthing West has now flipped to Labour!
The ruddy faced octogenarian racists couldn't get their shizzle together and became TOO racist.. with reform splitting the conservative vote!

Truss ?????
Beaten by a man whose name looks like a typo!
Oh god Nad is back
No concession speech. No class at all.
North Norfolk sign on the wall - "Goals should be hung up when not in use"
She can hang her goals up for good now I hope, and disappear to be an irrelevant commentator somewhere.
Labour have said they won’t tax more, they won’t invest more, they have no real plans
None of that is true. But we wait for the actions now.
Hurray, Truss is out!
And Mark Harper can stop pretending he gives a shit about the FofD too.
Well done everyone involved with both those victories.
Clive's just pointed the weather out..... I wonder if they'll find him an umbrella this time.
He's said he's staying on as an MP. Hmmm.....
I guess Rosie Holt is out of a job now, which is a shame.
Mel Stride ...... holds by 61
@ThePinkster also massively disappointed, I’ve had no campaign material or any sight of Aphra whoever they might be, I held my nose and voted for the labour candidate who lives in north Manchester instead of in the constituency (instead of my preference of greens) and it was a waste of time ?
Jess Phillips looking like she's been up all night... again... definitely the MP you'd most like to chat to down the pub... and still an MP (thankfully).
A thousand times no paisley
You ****ing said it!
Havant , my constituency, voted to retain the conservative Mr Alan Mak .
He's a standard , out the box Tory MP. Doesn't live locally , we never see him , he lies about achievement he's been involved in , when his involvement totalled receiving a letter.
He voted for more pollution in the sea, as a coastal area this is a big issue.
It's the gammon crusties voting to keep their triple lock pension in place. Keep out the foreigner as they take all the free houses and get free teles .
Still , he scraped in by .2% , or about 90 votes. Which forced a recount, but theres been massive swing towards labour.
Who was Jess Phillips aiming at with the comments about the campaign? I know the Gaza situation was going to be difficult but wasn't aware it had been nasty. That's a shame, by its nature politics has to be argumentative and confrontational; thankfully (and we aren't quite done yet) violence or worse has been absent this time.
Phillips gets it from all directions. She made it clear that it wasn't her constituents involved. She's probably been a target for people outside the seat to cause trouble.
correct, so must have been candidates and/or their agents and supporters.
“Havant , my constituency, voted to retain the conservative Mr Alan Mak .”
Same constituency as me, I am heartened that Labour gained so much of the vote share and overtook the Lib Dem’s as second place, for the first time in years. For once I felt able to vote with my heart rather than tactically, although the result didn’t change it was much closer than I ever thought it could have been.

Galloway's people this time.
Glad he's lost his seat in Rochdale.
Been asleep, who won?
Yes ! Absolutely smashed the ****ers !
Historical. 100 years of Tory overturned. Thank you S on A you beauties !
Cons won here but libdem came a good 2nd, which should give them a bit of a following wind in 2029 and I can at least take heart that Reform were a distant 4th here.
