It is only recently that the usage is also linked to drones and thats probably only been in the last couple of years.
It’s forever it’s related to an object that’s not identifiable.
“Hey Cougar, there’s a UFO group in the UK that’s not in Glastonbury, where d’you think it is?”
Ah, pedantry. Apologies, I'm usually better at spotting that. 🙂
I was meaning in the Aliens from another world sense.
Well.
There is no doubt in my mind that aliens exist.
There is no doubt in my mind that we'll never see them. They certainly aren't flying over Shitsville, Nebraska beaming up cattle.
Humans struggle to comprehend really big numbers.

Almost. It’s forever related to an object that’s not identified.
Humans struggle to comprehend really big numbers.
John Bishop, the comedian, grumbled about this on Infinite Monkey cage recently, and then came up with this frankly terrifying number - a whole human life lasts around 4000 weeks. As he said, it puts that wasted week on a terrible holiday in Benidorm in context.
I want to believe, but it’s time for lunch, mashed potatoes

How can you have an ‘expert’ in something that doesnt exist ?
They most certainly do. They are not very likely to be alien spaceships, but there is clearly a cultural or psychological phenomenon here if nothing else. Therefore, there is a subject in which to be an expert. Not all 'UFO experts' believe in aliens by the way.
It's Santa looking for the very few good people on his list.

Being obtuse again Drac. OBVIOUSLY UFO is 'unidentified' in its literal meaning. I said in the media and public imagination.
If an F22 can’t get a lock on them
This is all documented by the pilots and radar operators involved in the incidents and confirmed by the Pentagon
I've always wondered why conspiracy theories are so inconsistent even within themselves, even Dr Who manages to vaguely knit together a consistent story arc over 7 decades.
Aliens in Todmorden, hiding in plain sight?
No I’m not.
So its not really a stretch of the imagination to say UFO=Aliens.
Is a stretch no matter what the media publish.
The missing cows led to the reason Todmorden was put on the UFO map.
The constable responding to the incident made a full police report that his car stopped and he was abducted. A further complication arose with the mystery of the death of a Leeds miner, whose body was found on a heap of coal in Todmorden and PC Godfrey attending the scene let slip that the mysterious injuries to the body were the same as he suffered when he'd been abducted.
Discovery channel knits so e of the pieces together https://www.discoveryuk.com/mysteries/the-unsolved-death-of-zigmund-adamski-ufo-abduction-or-foul-play/
When I joined the police in that area PC Godfrey was having a little lie-down, but his former colleagues were still happy to discuss the story.

Well, if it's aliens searching for intelligent life forms, they'll be going home mightily disappointed having been searching over the USA.
Better chance if they go over the Atlantic and look for dolphins. Or plankton even when compared to Alabama.

They’ve got a better chance having a chat with the magpies in my garden than with the majority of the USA…
surely everyone knows the real place for watching UFOs is Bonnybridge

I heard there's a mysterious giant orange blimp on its way to Washington soon
Have we all decided on what constitutes a UFO then ? Good, we can move on
The latest from the American on the spot news desk of CNN is these 'Objects' damn, another UFO reference. That these flying, no wait, that these er.. things, are not related to the interference of some foreign power, and some of them were in fact light aircraft that had been mistakenly identified, and that most of the drones were in fact drones owned by American citizens.
Though there might have been a weather balloon or two included, that fact is yet to be determined
.
So emergency over. Put away those shotguns, Iran/China/Latest perceived enemy is not on the point of launching an attack on the good old US of A.
It never ceases to amaze me that aliens only ever abduct Cyrus P. Redneck III or herds of Yorkshire cattle, they never appear to bother Brian Cox or science conference delegates
Limitless speed, manoeuvrability that appears to defy the laws of physics, no heat signatures, no visible means of propulsion etc
Warp drive; it's been theorised since Einstein. If you can build that you can build Klingon cloaking devices 🙂

They ask too many questions.
Don't discount the idea put forward by Douglas Adams that these visitors are just doing it for a laugh and to wind us up.

[warning nerd content] The two more famous recent UAP sightings by US military pilots were in 2004 and more recently 2015, and both involved pilots flying F/A-18s. The first is the "Tic-Tac" sighting, a 40ft long tic tac with no visible means of propulsion, and the second the "Gimbal" recording the object looks like a sphere surrounded by a visible-light cube shape...Both objects were visible, and could be tracked by radar. Both recordings were released by the Pentagon a few years back. Given the US' history with advanced airplanes tested in secret, U2, SR71, the Have Blue/Senior Trend experimental planes that became the F-117, the lifting body experiments and on and on, it would not surprise me in the slightest to hear of some weird shit they reveal in a few decades time.[/nerd content]
I quite like the idea that some secret programme is fabricating a wide variety of sightings and stories, either with or without the knowledge of the military personnel, to obfuscate any genuine sightings of whatever they are needing to do and keep secret.

It goes some way to explain 'folk' from that side of Falkirk for sure.Even got signposts to the landing site, cos we all know aliens won't have reliable sat nav:
It’s getting worse in America, Gov Larry Hogan has posted on Xitter a video of drones over his place in Maryland. A whole horde of idiots are backing him. There’s one problem, it isn’t drones in the video, it’s aircraft on approach to the nearest airport and stars, including one easily identified asterism…
Read it and weep, and pray for America…

Missed the first one, I was too busy looking at the photo of what is clearly a quadcopter with red and green navigation lights.
Still, it’s worth highlighting the fact that someone who seems like they’d have trouble walking and breathing at the same time managed to get a job as a State Representative!
Just how slow can a mammal be and still have respiratory functions?
Answer me this.
If this were a spy mission on sensitive military and government sites, would these drones have navigation lights?
As far as im aware, drones don't normally come with nav lights unless fitted by the operator, and if this was for nefarious purposes, nav light would be the very last thing they'd consider fitting.
They'd also be all painted in Vantablack for starters, along with everything else that avoids drawing attention to their presence

Why use a drone when you have a satellite capable of resolution of 15cm per pixel.
Excatly. But you know the American voter, they're still checking under their beds for Reds. The government security services just have to drop a couple of key words like China, Iran, national security concerns and they're happily voting away their legal rights.

I think a small amount of doubt is required here.
I wasn't talking about your mind.
The numbers are incomprehensibly large. It's not just implausible that we're the only planet in the universe with life, it is as close to impossible as makes no odds. The only problem is that they will be a very, very, very long way away.
It's not dissimilar to the Atheist argument. I cannot disprove the existence of a god or gods, but I can say beyond any reasonable doubt that man created god in his own image rather than (as is often asserted) the other way around.
I don't know any of these things of course, and cannot. No-one can. But the balance of probability is astonishingly high.
TL;DR: Aliens exist. Aliens are not in our airspace nor in a secret bunker in Nevada. God isn't real. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk, I'm here all week. 🙂
I've read a bit more about this.
It happened in Russia. The spear thrower allegedly didn't intend to actually hit it, rather just give a cool shot for the camera. He offered to pay for the damage (it's not clear to me whether the drone operator accepted). The drone operator was chill and suggested that a competition for slaying winged demons from the future should become an annual feature at the re-enactment.
Oh, and the event organisers shat themselves and immediately went into "issuing statements" mode. 😀
Why use a drone when you have a satellite capable of resolution of 15cm per pixel.
Because people know when the satellite is overhead and can hide the fun stuff. You can also look into stuff which is hidden from overhead view.
In terms of nav lights some of the stuff alledgedly being flown doesnt have them. If I was going to guess I would go with a mix of hysteria/misidentification (majority), a few random drones being spotted and then maybe a handful of cases where someone is taking a peak at military bases.
Now there's reports of strange unexplained water falling from the skies.

Pretty sure they do, or at least non-FPV ones may have them switchable, because the ground based operators need to be able to identify which direction the vehicle is going in in order to be able to steer it.
May be comparatively old "news" but they're less worried about the drones now, it's the orbs...!
