When you see the big cycling races you see that all of the riders have got radios taped to their ears. Is there any consumer grade kit that people could recommend for when I'm out with a cycling buddy? There's lots of different variants around but I wonder if anybody had an idea of some good reliable kit that would allow two-way Comms?

I use Cardo intercoms on the motorbike.  Pretty sure they do models for cycling too.  It works really well, with quality JBL speakers and obviously handles phone calls, music, satnav etc ad well as being an intercom. They use a "dynamic MESH" system that allow up to 15 riders to join a group. Newer models allow up to 30 riders.
