Lee Rowley is still a proud tory, which doesn't surprise me one little bit.
Lee Rowley
Is there any correlation between those that have removed all the branding, and those not standing at the next GE?
Is there any correlation between those that have removed all the branding, and those not standing at the next GE?
Not that I've seen - I've now looked at all four of our local MPs (all conservative), all are standing in the next election and all have removed conservative branding in some form from social media or physical branding/promotional material or both.
Wife spoke to an adjacent constituency MP and his wife recently - was told that they now dislike going door to door as regularly get told to "f" off which had never happened before. He's regularly voted worst MP in the country and did have an incredibly safe seat, but they are moving his boundaries so is now increasingly worried he'll be booted.
This started sometime ago with a few local Tories trying to “distance themselves” from the Tory government in order to try and hold onto their seats in local elections.
The local Tories standing in council elections near where my Mum lives (S London) did this too.
That and they stood on effectively a one-issue platform of pledging to remove all the Low Traffic Neighbourhoods that their own Transport Secretary has mandated TfL to implement and provided the funding for.
They got absolutely annihilated.
Good.
Further scrutiny of our MP's website reveals the word 'Conservative' appears just twice but is pretty hidden away.
Mine is still off message - but then I don't think she is a favourite with high command any more...
My local MP doesn't use the 'C' word on the "About Chris" page on his website:
https://www.chrisphilp.com/about-chris/
Mind you the page apparently dates from June 3 2016 so he has been avoiding mentioning that he is a Conservative for a very long time.
I see our MP has also gone for the ‘Greenwashing’ approach: tw*t
He has a bold claim about expenses transparency, so I followed the breadcrumbs. It's well buried, but his expenses are here:
https://www.theipsa.org.uk/mp-staffing-business-costs/your-mp/jake-berry/4060
A few things leapt out at me. Firstly, when your annual expenses claim is pushing a quarter of a million should you really be worrying over claiming 96p for printing? Secondly, how is a TV Licence a business expense? Thirdly, why does your Internet connection cost a hundred and fifty quid?
Piss, taken.
Coming soon.
"The Party"
Aiming for a one party state, a situation where all voting is internal, for party members only.
My local MP has also removed all branding.

That was what struck me about the expenses scandal as well. Yes, the headline grabbers like duckhouses and moat cleaning and stable heating but the sheer amount of assorted crap in there. 30p for a bathplug, 55p for a KitKat...
Who seriously has time to document and process all of this?! It seems that most MPs are simply filing expenses claims all day for literally anything and everything.
Yes, yes, they have "office staff" (usually a family member - how convenient!) to do all the filing and claiming but the taxpayer is paying for their staff to be filing their expenses which the taxpayer then pays. It's like the gravy train is offloading the gravy into another train which then calls at all stations again on its way back.
Reassuringly, our full-on Tory Boy MP still has Conservative branding front and centre on his website.
He has gone with the new green colourway though.
My MP is somewhat shy as well.
"Your local choice for Welwyn Hatfield".
Which considering its Shapps and hence a minister is a bit reticent.
Although he does mention he is "Secretary of State for the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero." as a minor boast.
Being kind – perhaps a re-brand is coming and they want to make sure all media is clear of old branding first?
I don't know, give it a year or so and all they'll have to do is add the word 'former' before 'MP', hopefully.
Mine has no mention of the Conservatives on Twitter or Facebook. And he's in what is still apparently a safe seat.
I have no idea whether it's changed but our local MP Alex Chalk has a blue scheme with no Tory branding at the top of the page. The Conservatives/ tree logo does feature at the bottom of the page but at the top it's all "Alex Chalk KC MP - Member of Parliament for Cheltenham and Minister of State in the Ministry of Defence" so he's going with the "I'm your MP and this is how important I am" vibe. This is no surprise for the spineless, self promoting sh**bag. Thanks god this is a marginal and his days are almost certainly numbered.
Chris Grayling is out and proud.
Amusingly, my local MP's website is devoid of "conservative" except for mentioning that he was deputy chairman of the Conservative Party 🙃
As far as I can tell from wayback archive, the branding was dropped back in 2016.
chris philp's website as posted above by ernesto refers to his (successful) business record.
One business which he co-founded did well and was sold for a chunky sum.
Compare'n'contrast with two others he founded:
- hgv driver training company which collapsed owing £4 million mainly to aspiring hgv drivers who paid up-front for training which was never delivered.
- the charity was forced to close due to 'insufficient funds'.
That tells me his business failures exceed his successes.
Edit: he also set up 2 companies which were registered in Jersey so an absence of transparency.
Our local MP is Labour, but Cambridge South is Tory and also zero Tory branding.

Chris Grayling is out and proud.
Chris Grayling doesn't even know that ferry companies need ferries to operate or that new bits of railway line should have platforms for passengers so I find it much easier to believe that he is simply too stupid to change his website rather than being proud of his Toryness.
Wasn't it Grayling who was shocked to discover that we lived on an island?
I think you are referring to Raab and his "hadn’t quite understood the full extent" of the Dover-Calais link.
Grayling was the one who as part of the no deal brexit "preparations" gave 13 million contract to a "ferry" company who had possession of the same number of ferries as I do (arguably less since I guess my kayak could count if you really, really squint and they didnt even have that) and whose website was a food delivery company template one badly updated.
That said he did also come out with several other moronic plans/comments so you could be right.
Its hard to keep up with the idiocy.
Ah, yes. My mistake.
As you say, it's difficult to keep track. I need a new Cretinometer.
Chris ‘Failing’ Grayling, even by the standards of this lot, is a walking disaster area.
He was also responsible for the absolutely catastrophic privatisation of the probation services which had to be renationalised as it was such a monumental cluster-****!
It cost billions but more importantly loads of people got murdered and raped by people out on probation who went completely unsupervised due to the shambolic system he brought in
The ferry business (or no-ferry business) was small potatoes compared to that
