wwaswas - Memberpondo - he decided to get to a hotel late and was told that he couldn't have steak and chips.
Which deserted wasteland was this hotel located in, where there was nowhere within walking distance/taxi ride/helicopter flight to get to an all-night curry house? Was it that hell hole, the south east of England? 😆
I was just filling in the bit that was missed out
but you chose to ignore the reason that Clarkson was late as being entirely within his control. So not all the bit that was missed out?
it was directed at zulu not you
good here innit 😉
I don't believe the BBC report stated that Jeremy was responsible for them arriving late did it? Or are you relying on rumours again?
Edit, Klunk - regardless of Jezzas response being completley unacceptable (nobody has claimed otherwise) If it was Oisins job to sort the food, and he failed to do that, or inform the crew there was a problem with the food and they ought to pick up something on the way, then I can see why Clarkson might accuse him of not doing his job properly.

? the physical attack lasted around 30 seconds and was halted by the intervention of a witness;
? it is the case that Oisin Tymon offered no retaliation;think the police should be involved. sustained unprovoked attack!
30 seconds only? Usually a good fight would last longer.
Tymon did not retaliate because that's his choice. He did not stand up to himself that's also his choice.
To involve police? FFS! I hope I don't pay my tax to sort out this sort of minor shite. I bet there are people fighting and punching each others everyday and some of those fights are serious ones, whereas this 30 seconds "fight" is merely a hangbag fight.
JC could have punched that bloke a few more times because the consequences would be the same.
🙄
It would have been better if Clarkson had somehow been made to make a public, somewhat humiliating, apology for the attack - citing that he had a drink/anger management problem - maybe checking himself into the Priory - and managed to keep his job, at least for this series.
If only to stop the loss of work for all the support staff.
That route might not have ended up with Clarkson a 'hero' to some - it could have ended up as some sort of public service announcement.
The BBC could have done a show about anger management issues, etc and had Clarkson feature...

That'll teach him to stay in Wensleydale.

wwaswas - MemberA bloke punched someone he worked with and has quite rightly lost his job. The rest is irrelevant except for a bit of stw bickering.
1. Denial.
2. Anger.
3. Bargaining.
4. Depression.
5. Acceptance.
I wonder if Mr Tymon sought any sort of compromise.
I don't believe anyone said it was!
You have not said it over and over and over and over again for a number of pages 😕
Even you cannot bring yourself to even offer a tentative defence as his behaviour is so bad - is this a first ? [ genuine q that ] Still lets keep having a pop at the victim eh 🙄

So for exactly how long am I allowed to punch you before you call the police? Just purely out of curiosity.

No, Jeremy stated that, just before ****ting him.

But Clarkson hasn't been released for "accusing Oisin of not doing his job properly", has he. And there's a big fat "If" at the front of your sentence that kind of renders the whole thing even more speculative.
No, Jeremy stated that, just before ****ting him.
do you have a source for that or is it just rumour?
Jeremy stated that, just before ****ting him.
Sauce, please.
There was an interesting debate on R4 about this last week, It was explained that while at first glance it seems wrong to treat the stars as god like and refer to them as 'tallent' which devalues the contribution of the hundred of other tallented people working on the shows. That ultimately that was the job of the producers, to make the presenters feel good. As soon as you put them in anything other than a brilliantly good mood the whole show falls appart (even actors aren't perfect, let alone presenters), and that means everything has to be perfect, if they want a bottle of water then there has to be someone stood there behind the camera waiting with one, and as a result when things aren't perfect then little things become big issues.
They had some junior pesenter talking about how you go into it thinking it won't change you and you won't be aloof from the crew etc, then you have one bad day, the producer tries to gee you on, it gets worse. Then the next day you realise that actualy just letting everyone else make you happy results in a better end product and just let them get on with it as it's fairer on everyone as they're judged as much as you are by the ucess of the show.
So for exactly how long am I allowed to punch you before you call the police? Just purely out of curiosity.
if its to knock some sense into him we may have to form an orderly queue and work out a rota system 😉

Peppercorn or Mushroom?
At least we got Gillian Anderson before it was axed. Phew.

Just do your ****ing job without having your ego stroked and your every [ irrational] whim and rider list catered for.
Why do they need to do this?
Cant the talent not act like dicks?
Much as I think he's a knob I quite like working with Jeremy
James May
😀

Ha, that'll teach me to be cheeky!
Anyway, they should have come down here to South Wales. Better driving roads over the mountains, plenty of food places open all night, including Steak By Night, and you can guarantee a decent fight, if you want one. Should suit JC down to the ground.

LOL JC the Poor Diva.
Fluffing at the Beeb...
Cant help but feel that JC will be the only one who doesn't lose out through this.
This decision will put many jobs at risk (including the guy who got punched), the fans miss out, BBC will lose a shed load of cash which will impact on the licence payer...
and JC will sign a fat contract with Sky and make more money than ever....
tpbiker - Member[s]This decision[/s] Clarkson's gross misconduct will put many jobs at risk
Nah - Freelance Telly people just move with the job. They'll be fine.
Sky doesn't want him it has been reported.
He may find it more difficult than people elsewhere are suggesting to get another job in the light of the assault, especially if the South Yorks police decide to take the matter further. To be honest I would hope so, but in these days of 'celebrity culture' unfortunately I may be proved wrong.
I quite liked a lot of his work, on top form TG was great, for goodness sake even my mother liked watching their specials, but no one should act in this way to others in the workplace ( or out if it TBH)
The 'mystery' of why the Crime Correspondent at the Telegraph broke the story appears to have become clearer:
15.35 A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said:
“North Yorkshire Police is liaising with the BBC regarding the alleged incident in North Yorkshire involving Jeremy Clarkson.
“We have asked the BBC for the report which details the findings of their internal investigation into the matter.
“The information will be assessed appropriately and action will be taken by North Yorkshire Police where necessary.
“It would not be appropriate for North Yorkshire Police to comment further at this time.”
South Yorks police decide to take the matter further
All the way to North Yorkshire?
Is that what Jeremy said?
Not enough swearing, abuse , racism or violence for it to be him
It was wee bit ranty from me though 😳
All the way to North Yorkshire?
We all look the same to them.
Clarkson's gross misconduct will put many jobs at risk
I don't disagree with that...but the facts remain, he'll be the only one to benefit.
I see Piers Morgan has been touted as a successor.....I would personally withhold my licence fee if that total twunt got the job.

Everyone who has ever been within a mile of Broadcasting House who isn't involved in Yewtree has been touted for the job. Not as many people as you'd think.
Anyone listening to 5Live?
A very well spoken lady just rang in, and said boys will be boys and are always fighting, so whats the problem?

Jivehoneyjive is vetting potential candidates as we speak.
Klunk - Memberwhy are you describing it as a fight ?
Ok, not a fight.
it is the case that Oisin Tymon offered no retaliation;it was an assault not a fight.
Ok, in that case a punch is an assault, throwing two punches is an assault, three punches is also also an assault ... so long as the person is not damaged etc ... JC should have done that. Yes, he might face law suit later when the victim claims trauma etc, I think he should push the limit of so called assault since the consequence would be the same. This happened at a work place so let it be the problem with two men. I would view it differently if say a man intentionally punches a woman in the face because he is in a bad mood.

You can punch me as long as you like only if I was stoopid enough to let you do so. No "slap in the right cheek, turn the left cheek ..." concept I am afraid. But I will not go over the top in terms of retaliation if that helps.
I need to comply with the bureaucratic rules you know.

Can't see that happening, but we can live in hope

If this end up with a person going to jail ... then no wonder the country is bankrupt with all the money spending on such minor issue.
I pay my tax not to feed people in prison just because s/he has a workplace punch up ... or one punch "assault".
However, having said that the bloke that threw a punch and consequently murdered/killed the other bloke with one punch (was on the news many months ago) I would view that differently. I would jail the murderer with food on half ration for the rest of his life.
I think they were referring to the forlorn hope that Piers Morgan will eventually do time for phone hacking.
It was wee bit ranty from me though
Not enough swearing, abuse , trolling or arguing for it to be you. 😆
