Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right...although in central Scotland the clowns are in Edinburgh and the Jokers tend to be funnier from Glasgow side...

Think in the south east you could have 'The Chalk' covering all the classic Downland and beech woodland riding. So south downs, Chilterns, Ridgeway etc as a distinct region.  Other maybe distinct but would be something like 'The Heathlands' covering Swinley, Surrey Hills, etc.

Pleased to see you missed out NE England. With 3 'official' trail centres (Not including the 2 in Yorkshire but probably still considered NE), some of the best less official spots, and definitely the best gravel riding, we'd probably say it was the best riding in England, but we're happy to keep it a secret...

Oops.

I actually live 10 miles from the Tweed Valley but that’s what I say if I’m talking to another mountain biker because they’ve heard of that and not Wedale where I actually live

In fairness I live just down the road from you, have done for 17 years and I've never heard of Wedale. I had to google it to realise you meant Stow.

South East Lancs.

Rivi in the West, Littleborough in the East, Rammy in the North, Prestwich in the South.

Occasionally venture further East into "The Valley", but haven't since the latest incident with Tommy Lee Royce.
