Deadly I don't hate the stone roses, but I can't see the point of going to a gig.

The price of 4 x cans of delicious Fosters from the Spa on Whittaker Lane went up from £4 to £6.50 this morning apparently.

Sat at home waiting on my mate arriving from 'darn sour', taxi booked, boots on, baldness and middle-age polished, preened and ready!

Might have a G&T whilst I wait!

I suppose I should think about making a move from the pub in Chorlton. We've been saying that for the last couple of hours 🙂

Well, well, well.

I had hoped for so much. I guess I had very high expectations. I'd probably built it up to be an amazing gig.

They were ****ing awesome. 😀

Just got back... what a gig 8) "see, we've still got it"!

although, had a little chuckle at the irony of Ian Brown + 70 odd thousand middle aged blokes singing "the past was yours, but the futures mine. You're all outta time." 😆

There is no way the roses are ever going together to produce that feeling that happened at that time ever again, it's nice to pretend to repeat that, and it's still great music imo. Who is it for? It's a cash in on an idea, or a mythology of an era, an idea. good luck to 'em I say..

That was absolutely awesome! They put on a bloody great show!!!!!

Worth putting up with GMPTE taking their ideas for a mass transit system from the third reich's highly successful, though often criticised, example at Belson

Went last night also and had a great time. Great atmosphere, no trouble ( that I saw of) and great bands. The wailers were very good. As were primal scream. As for the roses overall quite impressive. Sure browns vocals were drowned out by the band on a couple of songs but on the whole he sounded ok. Squires and Reni, well what can I say, class the pair of 'em. 8)

It feels cliched to bang on about the fact that Ian Brown can't sing; his voice can still stun you with its sheer inability to hold a tune, particularly in the company of such fantastic musicians.

^ found that in a review of the gig!

I was warned by a guy I work with, who'd seen them loads of times 'back in the day', that they could be great or pretty awful, but I was blown away by how well they played. The crowd helped at times, by drowning out his voice completely, but overall it was just a great night.

I had a fantastic night emsz! Really really enjoyed it! The atmosphere was fantastic! The resurrection was always going to be the highlight, and john squire did his full on Led Zep-esque guitar god role for it 🙂 Reni was immense!!!. There were the predictable Ian Brown duff notes, but d'ya know what? ..... Who ****ing cares. It lived upto the hype, then some!!! I'd happily go back and watch it again tonight! And tomorrow!

Binners it wouldn't be right if Ian could 'actually' sing...

I've seen primal scream at Glasto when I was 13-14 or something, I think the lead singer had been a bit liberal with the drugs. 😆 It was soooo shit, he just about managed to insult every-one.

Bet the hairs stood up on your neck when that drum intro hit...

echo what binners said, bloody brilliant !!!!!

with it being a work night we didn't get there till primal scream literally walked on stage, perfect timing. didn't fancy being there all day queuing for food, drink and toilets.

weather gods were kind (and no i didn't wreck my suede samba)

never been to a gig before were i've sung the words AND the guitar notes so much before.

we managed to get back to the park & ride quite early so didn't have any problems getting off the site. reckon it will get a lot worse though.

They were toight as...

It's still playing in my head now. Like others, I'd gladly go back there this evening and tomorrow to see them again. A few smartarses will have had to eat their words today. And that's never a bad thing. 😀
