And how do we find out what it is? ๐Ÿ˜•

It's not a 'diet' but a way of thinking about what you eat ๐Ÿ™‚

My interpretation is you get your carbs from pulses & veggies - no fruit, starchy foods or sugary treats.
High protein, high fibre, high nutritional value foods for the mainstay of your calorie intake.
And one day 'off' a week for a 'normal healthy menu' with carbs/treats as you like.
Some leeway for pre/mid exercise carb hits but only to keep the system charged.

A way of filling a hole in your life. Feeling negative? This is the positive. Feeling scared? It'll take away the fear.

I didn't actually eat that much junk on saturday. I started with a latte and a doughnut, and that was all I needed.

I ate 3 double deckers, 3 dairy milks and a box of choccy flapjacks from Sainsbury's on saturday

Very agreeable.

Except for the Sainsburys bit that is highly commendable work there Mr Jamie.

All the key nutrients you need to achieve beefcake stature.

I have been to your 'waitrose', and their choccy flapjacks have something to be desired.

...saying that the ones on Saturday were a bit stodgy.

Oh, and I had 2 creme eggs as well. Festive!

ianp - are you serious???

dairy is low GI, but paradoxically causes an insulin response

๐Ÿ˜ฏ @ Ianp and bloody well done ! <edit> just read you blog - fantastic effort ๐Ÿ˜€

I've been back on it for 4 days now after forgetting about it for the past couple of months. Still about 7kg's lighter than when I started it last year but looking to lose another 7-10kg's after winter laziness.

I'm not perfect on it. Cheat about 3 meals a week rather then 1 whole day as I'm generally unorganised and get caught out at work

I've got my head around breakfast now and more or less managing the diet, but I felt really really sh1t after a 3 hour ride yesterday which I did 3 hours after breakfast and just on water. I ate as per the rules as soon as I got home, but had an hour shivering on the sofa trying not to throw up.

What's the deal with energy gels when riding - allowed or not?
I think I need something with more easily absorbed carbs before a long ride - any suggestions?

Holy cow.. 40kg! Top stuff.

Today my legs are trashed despite taking it easy on the ride in...

Yes, but not as much as their recommended dosage I think.

if you're doing long rides, then use carbs - 90 min before, and during and in the first 20 mins after

I was 74kg.

The advantage of this, is that I can go out on a windy day, whereas Kev can't.

Jamie are you iDieting too?

I am doing elements of this and that.

Mostly the principles of this.

Currently at 74kg and heading down to 68kg well might be more like 70kg due to muscle gains, at a nice steady .5-.6kg a week.

I'm keen to start the diet, but not quite worked out when - just started to race and seeing really good improvements in my training. There's no way i could've done my road race yesterday without my tried and tested carbs/foods - av hr of 191 and i didn't blow up at all! ๐Ÿ˜€
