Who is up for this?  I have never celebrated christmas for 20 years but since I have retired and my Julie died on me I am at a loose end,so which misanthropes, grinches and miserable old bastards want to join me for a bike ride on Christmas day?

this is not a pity call - I will go and ride my bike and enjoy my day anyway but if other grinches or miserable bastards want to join me in a cycle ride with plenty of "bah humbug" then please do

couple of hours drive from Edinburgh, early start, as long as you can be arsed riding, anyone being "jolly" will be beaten!

Who is up for it?

If we were closer we'd join you but it's a bit far. We'll be out either on the bike or on foot at some point though

I will join you in spirit only, from sunny Norfolk as I always manage to get out for a couple of hours on Christmas Day while the dinner is cooking.
I find that after a pedal, I’m in a much better frame of mind to be able to deal with the strains of a family Christmas!

I’ve already agreed to go for a cycle to Crammond and back on Christmas morning with daughter #1 - I will give you a wave if I see you though 😀.
