Cyndi Lauper 😮😮
Turned Dua Lipa off and went to bed. Thought the sound mix was awful, could hardly hear her over the mix.
Hmm. I had my Sonos setup cranked and it sounded great
I’m watching Keane. And I’m kinda enjoying it.
My OH is obsessed with The Last Dinner Party so watching that atm. Good songs, very Kate Bush though.
Literally switched on as Michael Kiwanuka started up, pleased to see he's still current, thought he had been a bit flash-in-the-pan on the back of the Big Little Lies soundtrack.
Was about to complain that he sounded a bit 'studio' even live but then the lead guitarist delivered a pretty spicy wee solo 😎
Awaiting Little Simz 🙂
What's with the big flags on huge poles? I'd be royally annoyed if I were at the rear and wazzocks with Watford fc flags were obscuring the tiny singing figure.
Damn.
Now to "girls just wanna" is the same amount of time as cyndie lauper to vera Lynn.

I dunno. I think it’s just a thing this year.
Come on you ‘Orns!
Well my forks blew up on my bike ride earlier, so curtailed my riding weekend. Just got home and popped Little Simz....will probably switch to Masego on West Holts at 8:30.
Little Simz 👌🏻😎
Just flicked to the Streets. Great start 😎😎
Masego has been amazing thus far!
Watching the footy so I’m planning to watch Little Simz, Fat White Family and the Streets after
The best flag spotted so far…

They've been doing it for years. A lot of them are pretty high up so wouldn't obscure the view and if it does you're probably watching the screen anyway

Yeah, but thanks to him, I’m now jonesing for a yam.
Orbital! Tilda! Swinton!
I've enjoyed The Streets but this had better be some m-f'ing good flag waving after this build up.
I'd always assumed the flags work like pennants, marking where your crew is when you're making your way back from the portaloos.
Orbital! Tilda! Swinton!
DEEEEEEPER
Sporty! Spice!
The orbital/spice girls track ... no lol no. I'm just going to have to pretend they don't do that kind of thing.
I’ve only just jumped into Orbital.
Tilda was a bit much. Glad to see normality quickly return Saaaaaaatan 🤭
Jaffa Cakes are cakes - do you want to pay more tax? 🤣
Tuned in for Little Simz, only 30 mins?
I'm watching Sleaford Mods and trying not to touch the top of my head.
I quite enjoyed a bit of Mel C …
I know they're not everyone's cup of tea, and that's OK. Life would be dull if we all liked the same things, they're not mine either. But Coldplay do put on a show, and 100,000-odd people seem to be properly into it. I suspect it would be a real experience to be there for it.
This Jessie Ware set was one of the most utterly joyous things I’ve ever seen!
Imagine missing that to watch Coldplay?
Mrs Binners just said we really, really, really need to go and see her live. We really do!
I thought that they were a bit boring. Really front loaded all of their biggest songs. I mean fairly play, they really know how to headline a show. Just felt a bit flat from halfway through. Will check out Jessie Ware....is it just me, or has pretty much all of the stuff dropped off iPlayer currently?
yep, not sure where it's all gone I found Jessie Ware in 'Extras', watching it now.
If they're still there, check out Mary Wallopers on the iPlayer 'Hidden Gems' Glasto section.
(and not Glasto, but on similar tip, if you've not come across them have a YouTube dig around for Peat And Diesel)
I really can't stand Coldplay, but thought I'd give them 10 minutes with an open mind
Truly, truly awful music and Chris Martin was cringeworthy
Missus isn’t a Coldplay fan, but she absolutely loved it. Not the best photo……

Truly, truly awful music and Chris Martin was cringeworthy
20 years ago, maybe even 10 I'd have agreed. And I still do a bit that Chris Martin grates a wee bit. But as I've got older, and dare I say it a bit more mature, I disagree. It's not awful, it's clearly very good at what it is and loads of people love it. It's not my cup of tea but that's fine. What music you like is opinion and telling 100,000 people last night their opinion is shit is, well, shit.
I don't own any Coldplay albums, and don't plan to on the back of last night. I don't own any Jessie Ware either, FWIW. But from what I've seen I'd have loved to have been in the crowd for either of those sets last night, as they were epic.
If you genuinely hate it, that's fine too. It's opinion and you can't be wrong when it comes to artistic taste. But maybe, you just haven't grown up fully yet 😉
(and there was i thinking as I got older I was supposed to get even more 'modern music is rubbish! What is this crap you're listening to with my my kids?!')
I liked Coldplay's first album but since then they just got on my wick a bit, a bit samey too. Friend of mine is there with his daughter and we'd said it was a shame for him to miss Orbital to have to see Coldplay, her choice. We were wrong, she was right.. quite a performance. Yeah, a bit of a cringe here and there but the guy is a natural performer.
Would have loved to have been there for Orbital though. Lush, Chime and Halcyon, live and loud in a lit-up field.. 🙌🏻 time machine stuff
This will be an unpopular opinion, but this jaded old punk has been totally won over by Coldplay.
Me too. When my twitter feed is full of angry comments about Banksy's boat after I read just 1 tweet from Farage and now my feed is full of hate, Chris martin's genuine warmth and enthusiasm for all comers is a welcome respite. I've never been that into Coldplay's music but its not always about the actual tune, sometimes it's just about how music can bring people together and that looked like an amazing place to be.
