There are a number of ways this epic edition of the European Grass Diving Championship could go. One or the other scores early, the diving to grind the game to a halt/win a penalty goes off the charts. Neither team can score so the diving goes off the charts in an attempt to get free kicks/penalty/get someone sent off.
My prediction is Italy will win, because their forward are just a bit more efficient. Also it'll be excruciating to watch.
Mixed feeling about this: I live in Spain, Spanish wife, like the place, quite happy to see them win stuff... but a final against England? Oof. That could be tiresome. Unless we win, when it would be magnificent of course.

I dunno to be honest - I’m beginning to wonder if they let the play continue to see if a goal gets scored which can then be checked with VAR. They only seem to flag when the attack gets broken up. (Or I may be imagining that.)

Thiago feels the opponents shoelace brush his sock. Goes down screaming and does 97 1/2 rolls. Realises he has managed to come to a stop off the field of play when Brazil are trying to waste as much time as possible. Has to very subtly begin rolling again until he is back on the field of play, at which point he rocks back and forth in agony. Priceless.

Anyway, moving on, the odd entry for GDC2021, this is a cracking game.
Yup very good game so far although one good sign is if England manage to get past Denmark neither of these defences look very solid, lots of space to be found. Also, I feel like Italy are engaging in some of the other kind of cheating, looks like they are targeting certain players with shithousery IMO.

This is the new Italy. Defence is the old. No one tell Bunicco or Cheillini. If nothing else this game shows you how Mancini has changed the approach.
They are struggling with the tempo and pace that Spain, through Busquets, are setting.

They are winning the 4 on 3 in the midfield. If I'm the Italian centre halfs,I'm pretty happy. Everything is in front of me, Not overly troubled. Italy is going to have to sub their midfield though, unless something else changes. They can't maintain this workfare.

I haven’t seen much evidence of Italy ‘falling over’ tbh. Running out of energy, yes
