And we haven't reached peak "Poppy Rage"

What problem do you have with the poppies, exactly? It’s not a commercial spend-fest, it’s a charity raising money to support service members and their families. It’ll be over in five days. *rolls eyes*

Some of the English rugby teams were having a minute silence the weekend before last, because it would be the closest game to Remembrance Day.

Simple, and yet got so wrong. This has Christmas taking from December right through to the following October. Christmas is not 11 months long.

First line should read:

"Is it December 25th?"

I could probably stretch that to "24th, 25th or 26th" at a push.

There's probably a meme in this lot somewhere - that cartoon of the guy trying to decide which button to press, you could have several.

One marked Black Friday, one as Christmas and one saying Poppies.

And a poor stressed shop employee wondering which one to push at this time of year.

Trigger warning,‼️

I thought that was badgers? Will be sure to be careful though”

It was Badger with the sealant and the penguin. Easy mistake to make, though… 🤣

House up the road is festooned with large tacky inflatable figures.  Santa and the reindeers have already deflated, waiting for the rest.

Went in home bargains yesterday and they are full Christmas, decorations out, flashing lights, Xmas songs on repeat. Must be pretty grinding working in there.

Maybe this car through their window yesterday was a protest? Or not. It had L plates on the back.

Having gone to the local rememberance ceremony yesterday (never seen so many people since the 60s and a few too many young ones who looked like I might not like their politics), we're off to the Lindt chocolate factory on the tandem when Madame gets in from work in an hour. Panniers full of bags of misshapes, yummy. Sorry, no bah-humbug.

I went into the office yesterday and they had some god-awful Christmas radio station on, so I’ve been ‘Whammed’ already and we’re not even half way through November

Thats me working from home until January then

That’s a very good point. Needs amending.

Someone tried to bring Christmas cheer and joy to the office.......

I thought they needed reminding it's still November - so I lynched their Elf.....

Oh my, just been out with the dog and it appears to be mid December already in our estate, Christmas lights and trees up in a large number of houses. It’s still November !   Ours are reluctantly going up next weekend as we have a tree coming late in the week from a local place; in my mind that’s still at least a week too soon.

Today is apparently one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Black Friday weekend / payday / Saturday / pre-Christmas. I had to drive on the M60 earlier this morning and the sat nav was already warning me about severe delays in the Trafford Centre area.

No doubt there'll be an article in Manchester Evening News in the next day or two about how people were stranded in a multi-storey car park for 3hrs trying to exit the place or how it took an hour to go 2 miles along the motorway...

Now there's a thought. If i break the habit of a lifetime, and pitch up at the German Mkt in Brum to meet some ex colleagues on Weds night, I'm almost bloody certain to get Whammed. Is that a risk I should take?
