Don't use the bar-cam much these days, but had it on last night as was going to film something for this site.

Did capture this stupid arse trying to push me off the road 😕

He was unsighted by the car infront of him, wasn't he? Hopefully he'll have learned an important lesson about following other people through overtaking manoeuvres.

Anyway, he must be right, HE'S BEEN PROPER POLICE TRAINED AND EVERYTHING. Where's smurf mat?

Awful driving. I despair. If the rozzers think that's acceptable what chance do we have?

He was indeed - he was far too close to it.
Also, to be fair, the sun was in his eyes.
So if he'd killed me it wouldn't have been his fault.

Who do I send it to then Mike? Hampshire Constabulary?
Or the local station (of which he could've been from any of 2 or 3)?

DezB - quickest way to share something Social media.

try Twitter @HantsPolice with a link to the Youtube vid - stick it on their FB page too. Sit back and wait for the reaction.

Yeah... but... I sort of... you know... like and appreciate the police... 🙁
I know - I'm going to ask my copper mate who I play footy with, what he thinks I should do.

Portsdown hill? Not the widest of roads either. Whilst I totally agree its too close, they didn't actually hit you. He should have been more careful with a low setting sun in his eyes though.
I'd let it go, realisically you're not going to get much from it.

For once I think I've found an acceptable thread to tell someone to MTFU!

P.S. "like and appreciate the police", wont complain but happy to post a video publicly online? Make your mind up

we all do it (even when we know we shouldn't)

🙂

it's driving like that which forces us into the gutter, which reinforces drivers expectations of where we 'should' be.

>Did capture this stupid arse trying to push me off the road<

Err no.

What he was trying to do, as far as I can see, was to give the other cyclist a very wide berth. And in doing so, he misjudged the situation.

No point bleating about it on here - if you think it was "that close" take it up with the Polis.

I ride in a position appropriate to that road. As I do on all roads on which I ride.

I've MTFUed and Tweeted it.

Dez, I put it to you that any reasonable driver might misjudge the AWESOME speed you're travelling at up the hill there

It's all your own fault really

No way should you let that go... if you'd been riding primary you may not have been posting on STW...

I get that DezB may not wish to cause undue harm by firing this across the ****tersphere this was careless rather than intentional but I do think that it should be taken up with them. The Emergency Services take their driving standards very seriously and given that no-one was actually hurt an approach to the local Head of Traffic might be best.

This is frighteningly common IMO and I have been (nearly 😉 ) guilty of it myself. I would send link to HC. I think posting on their facebook/twitter is escalating the issue and may have unintended consequences - know what I mean?

It was very close.

Did a little bit of wee come out while you were riding along?

He's actually given the other bike more room than the Porsche he is following. But his BMW is a good bit wider as well and that's put him pretty much on collision course with you.

I would probably find the correct person to send it to rather than posting it on their facebook page. But it could have been a lot more serious

why on earth were you riding with your finger up your willy? not only is it unhygienic, but you have reduced braking capacity.

I used to work for a police force and was often asked to identify police vehicles from GPS logs for investigations into poor driving standards reported by the general public. So they did look into them, not sure about the consequences though!
