Banter then? Or Trolling?
It was what Binners was doing earlier and it was bloody hysterical. He's consistently been ridiculing the entire discussion.

Really, I just thought he was posting silly pictures because he had nothing sensible to say.
Sort of keeping his hand in the debate even when he had nothing of value to add.
18 pages - seriously!!
Edit - 19!!!!

Hi! You might find this useful. and this
I'll be honest with you. Its no fun taking the piss out of people who are too... whats the word... 'challenged' to realise thats whats going on.
To be fair though, it wasn't too prevalent in the 1970's. And you seem to have an attraction to the early period
Hey guys!* Its the 21st century!
Group hug?
* and girls, if we must
The proposition from the other side is that somebody should stop doing something legal, quite common and in general fairly uncontroversial (making charity calendars in this instance) because somebody got a tiny bit upset that the calendar in some bizarre way made them look and feel a bit bad. That is the definition of intolerance.
Is it? Is that exactly the reasons people think this calendar is unacceptable?
There was a recent piece of advice somebody wrote, which might help you a bit with understanding why exactly people think it's unacceptable:
I'd have hoped you'd have read the thread before you commented on it.
p.s. I do enjoy the way you portray this as a "charity calendar" in order to group it with all the other calendars which manage to raise money for charity without perpetuating sexual stereotypes.

My sides are splitting old boy, how do you cope with such intellect and Witt.
As my mother says, you should be on the stage.
I know. Tragic isn't it? I don't know who I'm trying to kid. You want funny though? I'll show you something funny! Seriously! Sit yourself down and enjoy....
... you're welcome
Considering the level of offense taken on here over a calendar can I ask what the general consensus of having half naked men advertising aftershave is?
Yet more pish binners.
When you've done with that...
.... you're welcome

I think we did the why such images of men aren't equivalent on about page 2 or 3, and the discussion on how people weren't actually taking offence (in the pejorative way you imply) on page 4 or 5, but I CBA checking.
Do your own research.

No you are!
I know this is late era. but if you close your eyes you can imagine its ten years earlier.

No, you are.
Can I just check, have people on this thread really needed to have it explicitly pointed out that binners is taking the piss?
I note that doesn't mean he's been trying to make you laugh, simply ridiculing some of the arguments.

Apparently so 😀

Not according to your mum 😉

Just not very well.
I note that doesn't mean he's been trying to make you laugh, simply ridiculing some of the arguments.Including his own?
Not according to your mum
No that is far too advanced, that's at least primary school level.
The scary thing is that you still don't get it
I do get it.
Have you finished [s]being a cock[/s] bullying me yet.
Sorry browbeating me with your superior wit.
Awwwww bless.
Just send me the bill for the therapy
Doubt you could afford it sunshine.
Do the people who see the calendar as sexist towards women also see the same calendar as sexist towards men?
Why are the mods not closing this? Is it because they are sexist/feminists that have a personal interest in it all? 😀
It seems like it's too complicated for YOU to understand Binners, not the other way round.
You don't understand the complexities of the debate so you post lot's of silly nonsense to spoil the debate (with lot's of implied name calling aimed at a poster who has a different opinion to you), which seems like forum bullying to me and goes against the forum rules.
No big deal to me, it was just peeps were getting on to the cumberlanddan poster and trying to corner him over a couple of words used (which I too had thought were being implied/acted out.) I don't like bullies you see so had to speak up.
It's okay though Cougar finds you hysterical and that's all that matters. X.
I think Binners understands perfectly. He's wound you lot up no end.
it was just peeps were getting on to the cumberlanddan poster and trying to corner him over a couple of words used (which I too had thought were being implied/acted out.)
He's been given lots of opportunity to use different words, but when I last checked he was still using the same ones and simply pointing out he didn't mean the usual meaning of the word. Along with plenty of other not so subtle insinuation and failing to back up his claims. If he feels that this is bullying (he seems to have flip-flopped on that one too), then there was a dead easy way to get the "bullies" off his back.
FREEDOM to put up girly calendars on our walls?

'Trying to corner' him aka trying to get him to stop making things up and putting words into people's mouths (repeatedly) that they never said. That's bullying is it?
But the author of the article and other women who complain about sexism need to lighten up and stop overreacting?
Hmmm ok then....
😕
Whilst Madame is totally engrossed in Miss France and has just asked me who I'm putting my money on, 17-year-old junior is in his bedroom doing homework and I'm wondering what Binner's footballing daughter will think of her footballing youth in ten years time - at some point most kids reject many of their parents' values.
So as my two picks are still in the last twelve I'll bid you goodnight and cheer for Miss Réunion and Miss Longuedoc.
I'm at a loss as to how Binners has "superior strength" unless you're setting up a pie-eating competition.
This thread was worth it for that quote.
Is it? Is that exactly the reasons people think this calendar is unacceptable?
no its a massive straw man from the man arguing for greater comprehension and tolerance of others view[ whilst wanting interesting psychological profiles of people]....another one of the posters where you try to decipher if it is satire or stupidity at work.
How can he take the piss if he cannot grasp the debate? You don't understand the complexities of the debate so you post lot's of silly nonsense to spoil the debate (with lot's of implied name calling aimed at a poster who has a different opinion to you), which seems like forum bullying to me and goes against the forum rules.
Secondly I fail to realise how anyone can just ignore what glasgowdan has said re Binners that you can ignore his posts were were just rude. They have been posted numerous times.
trying to corner him over a couple of words used
Well if we need to understand the debate we need to understand why you lot - FFS when did we form groups?- are whinging like babies about bullying whilst ignoring all the other retors and bullying - ironically this includes the charge of bullying to undermine the other side whilst suggesting we all need a good psychological profile doing it. The word is being erroneously used .
Jesus wept some folk have been a bit rude about some other folk. if you think its one sided you are delusional and unable to read.
Is that Cilla Black in younger days on the beer label??
I don't think he does, maybe if I explain my self through the medium of silly pictures.
eh ? you're a homophobic antisemitic wife beater 😕
I like naked females!
I'm personally feeling repressed....
Hmm. In the interest of fairness i might have actually called binners posts bullying, though if you read the context of that particular bit of the discussion its only after being prompted to do so. So hats off to you on that one. Congratulations. Clearly your entire argument is proven correct.
Binners posts, which he my think are very clever, are just a load of noise designed to drown out sensible debate and paint others in a bad light. Not constructive, not clever just very very ****ing childish. His only attempts at a serious post are apparently satire. How convenient.
or that of the moderators it would appearIn Internet slang, a troll (/?tro?l/, /?tr?l/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion,[3] often for their own amusement.
THat was a brilliant way of trolling
I salute that effort it really is superb

Well that was very graciously done. Apology accepted. 🙂
