From my childhood:
white bread
butter/spread (quite a lot)
mayo (quite a lot)
cheese single
cheesy wotsits (with practice you can get most of a packet in, and this was in the 80s before shrinkflation)
press down hard to get it all to meld, and then eat.
This may be too late for lunch, but pesto and sweet chilli sauce on grilled chicken. Works ok with tinned tuna, too.
Had a brown bread, cream cheese and rocket sandwich on KLM yesterday. Looked appalling but tasted surprisingly excellent
Never in my life have I thought about putting cheese on a fish finger sandwich.
Tbf, I don’t actually like cheese.
However i put the question to my wife and she instantly said ‘yeah that’s a mcds filet of fish’
I had no idea this was a thing.
Anyway, on to more important matters, Glasgow Oyster ftw. With your choice of red or brown.
To continue a theme really, leftover chilli con carne with any of the leftover accoutriment (cheese, guacamole, sour cream, jalapenos).
A Scotch pie needs the roll just to absorb all the grease.
Now I want a fried pie on a roll.
The correct name for that is a Glasgow Oyster.(Note the soft Mortons roll, which is known as a morning roll)
I had you down as a well fired kindling of a guy.
Take a tortilla wrap. Spread hummus. Add grated carrot, rocket, falafel fresh from the oven, mango chutney. It’s a game-changer.
Agreed. My version of this; plenty of good hummus, grated carrot, fresh coriander, and toms, cucumber, red onion, leaf of choice on a good quality wholemeal seeded loaf cut thickly Bloody amazing.
Peanut butter, sweet chilli chicken, salad & bread of your choice. Lush! Frankie & Tony's in Newcastle. Other fillings are available... (also seconding @hot_fiat's Dene's Deli pick and @whyterider93's Sea Change Cafe shout out!!)
Roast beef, stilton and Spitfire chili mustard on brown...
