[#2043347]

Can we have the ability to put in google maps links and have them come up as embedded maps please?

Would be massively handy, we are always talking about places, roads, rides etc, this being a bike forum an all.

Not being funny, but its hardly a harship to click on a link now is it?
I'd imagine embedding maps into pages on her would chew up quite a bit of bandwidth, although Im not a web designer.

No of course not, but it's just a nicety that's all. Like the images and videos.

It doesn't. When you link to something on a page it downloads it from the server the linked-to thing on, not the server the original page is on.

although Im not a web designer.

Apparently ๐Ÿ˜‰

Could be good for trails.. but google lets you put in streetview pics in the links and even panoramio ones.

Another (really, really small) request: could links in threads please open in a new window? (Good form anyway - it prevents users navigating away from the site...)

I know I can right-click the link and choose 'Open in new tab' but sometimes I forget... Surely just a small tweak - adding 'target="blank"' to the link code somewhere?

You can also press ctrl and click for new tab, or shift-click for a new window...

Or just Command-Click on the link (CTRL on PC I think)

A one-hour-a-week switch the swear filter off would be fun ๐Ÿ˜€

Agree with mike, target="blank" is very bad form IMO.

I'm the one controlling things, I'll decide if they should open in the same tab, a new tab or a new window.
Why would you want to cede that control to a website? Is it so hard to middle-click?

can we have a flashing light or sommat on every thread that is or looks like it's about to kick off. Cos they're the only interesting ones really.

I was thinking like/dislike buttons so members can vote, and the relative votes affect the colour of the post in the list ๐Ÿ™‚ Colour would be pale if there weren't many posts/votes, getting more solid as they mount up!

I suggested a big throbbing cock that grew in size next to the poster's name, but they're still working on it.

I think a symbol to show which threads are currently seeing a lot of akshun would be whole lot better than "freshness"

Throbbing cock idea is good, mind

The new window thing always annoyed the hell out of my on this site "back in the day" and still does whenever I come across it elsewhere on the web.

Wouldn't embedding maps limit their size ?
If I'm looking at a route on a map I want to see it full screen.

Oh, and thanks for the wheel click = new tab tip. How did I not already know that ? ๐Ÿ™„
